simple things :: one fine afternoon – part i

March 15, 2013 filed under: business, hello twiggs personal, mr. kobe, personal, simple things, simple things

choosing to keep a similar post title as bonnie tsang, when she wrote about how hard it is for us freelancers to say that we are not working for some reason that is merely personal. i feel the same, though i’ve tried for a few times to have different schedules to manage my work life balance and creativity. some have worked longer than others, but i have always ended up without a particular schedule during the week. the last one has been working for four days on my client’s projects and the fifth day is to deal with orders and fine art shops.

however even though i’ve managed to stop working by dinner time for a long time, the truth is that as the office is now located in the living-room (totally by choice), i am always so tempted to be working a little bit here and there after dinner… until 2am most of the times. during the weekends, i don’t work on my client’s projects at all and try to take walks and go outside as much as possible, but i always end up to work on my personal photos for blog posts and stuff like that. but it relaxes me!

mr twiggs is in between jobs and has some freelance work going on as well, so currently he’s working from home too! so yesterday we went out for lunch by the river and on a wimp we decided to drive to portinho da arrábida to spend the afternoon! we grabbed our cameras, the dog and car and off we went! care to join us?

it was pretty cold and the air was crisp, because when we arrived it was nearly 5pm, so the sun was pretty down already. i didn’t know this beach, as during the summer i was in the area, but didn’t manage to go to this beach. the parking lot is quite small and by the time i got there was already full, so a man was telling everyone to turn back. i decided to just drive towards the southwest of alentejo to meet mr twiggs. so yesterday was a great day for us, as neither one of us knew this place. it was magical, though we can imagine that during summer months must be even better! the light is different, and that makes all the difference too!

so and those of you who work from home, do you take days off? do you feel guilty by not working on a business day? do you feel the pressure to be constantly working because you need to provide for yourself and look busy all the time? share your thoughts in the comments, please! it would be lovely to know other’s experiences on this!

tomorrow i’ll share the rest of the photos! thank you for taking a walk with me!

Mas chateia-me, honestamente chateia-me.
