simple things :: oranges & rain

February 1, 2013 filed under: at home, hello twiggs personal, simple things, simple things

since october we’ve been enjoying the pleasure of having a backyard with an orange tree, a lemon tree and a grapevine! well we were not that lucky with the grapevine, as it’s way too sweet to eat and we got lazy on doing the grape jam we wanted to! so basically we had to sweep the grapes that kept falling to garbage bags! and now we have an orange tree full with 3 different types of oranges and we’ve picked them twice and there are so many yet to be picked on that tree. some are really acid, but eatable and others are actually good! i’ve been baking cakes and making orange juice a lot lately! last week was rainy and during my lunch time i couldn’t resist taking some pictures, while i was picking some oranges to eat after lunch! how cool is that? to pick your own fruit when you want to eat it??

this gate is to my next door neighbour’s backyard! i love the way the ivy falls down and the moss on the ground. i keep picturing a few portraits right here, and imagine this with sunlight! yes, that good!

And that is absolutely fantastic: to pick your own fruit from the backyard in the middle of Lisbon. Beaitiful photos.

awww gorgeous!!! I love that because in my parents house we have a couple of fruit trees and plenty of garden space, so I guess I value those a lot as well as the light. love the light on the oranges, it’s so inspiring really! the best part: a bit of countryside in the middle of Lisbon, how perfect is that?

definitely a bit of countryside in the middle of lisbon and that was one of the reasons we fell for this home! though during winter time mr kobe is not allowed outside that often, having this backyard is quite amazing for some sun, a bit of fresh air without going to the street, take care of laundry… and we have all sorts of plans for the small garden part!

[…] also appreciate the fact that i can go to my backyard and pick up some oranges, play with mr kobe, or enjoy the rest of my lunch hour on my living-room watching something on fox […]
