today i just had to share this with you! this morning i was just sending some emails updating my address and someone from the communication agency who works with ikea asked me when was the official start of this blog, so that they could write that on their database. and as i started with a post here and there on september 2009, i don’t actually consider it the official start. but then i laid my eyes on my third post, laid back on my chair and smiled.
sometimes our dreams do come true. oh boy, do they come true! in 2009 i was completely lost. i was unhappy with my day job, sick of all the praise for excellence and competition, and just wanted to escape from all that. i had recently joined flickr and was exploring photography on some really small baby steps. but i knew that i was really loving it. so, and as i was never able to figure out what to do when i grew up, i wrote some clues i had of what i would like to do in the future, though this “future” seemed so far away and almost impossible. on september 6th 2009 i wrote:
“i don’t have a clue there. maybe something…
- WHERE I’M THE ONE IN CHARGE;
- WHERE CLOCKS ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT (NOT THE EASIEST….);
- WHERE I COULD BE CREATIVE;
- WHERE I COULD TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD (DREAM ON DREAMER);
- WHERE I COULD HOLD A CAMERA.”
now if you happen to know something about me, you’ll know that i actually do all these things. well, except the clocks not being important, but it’s a different feeling for sure. and obviously i’m not travelling around the world, but i did go to amsterdam for a shoot this december. i feel so blessed right now!
oh well, if i can have some piece of advice for all of you dreaming about a different life, well, do not give up and work as you can for it. who knows, those dreams of yours might come true if you just keep on trying. the universe seems to reward those dreamers and hard-working fellows!

olá elsa! bem primeiro adorei conhecer o teu trabalho! tens um site tão giro e cheio de sentido de humor! bem, como sabes acho que vale a pena sonhar e às vezes sem darmos por ela, as coisas acontecem como queríamos que acontecessem por isso força! não tens de saber o que queres, basta seguir o teu caminho todos os dias e este caminho há-de levar-te onde queres! ;)
