yes yes yes, these are my favourite colours and i want to fill my house with these colours! whenever i talk about interior style i may bring the subject to our conversation, but though i love to read scandinavian blogs about interior style, browse through images of black and white interiors, beautiful and charming places with a minimalist, yet very comfortable and cozy mood, i don’t see it in my house. on the other hand, i’ve become a fan of warm colourful houses (as long as not too much colours and bright colours all at once), with plants to add a bit of natural feeling and of course, with light!
so today’s find is perfect for me – proud mary, which is a project that intends to support south-american artisans.
“proud mary is a global exploration of textiles. it all started in 2008 when owner, harper poe returned from volunteering with habitat for humanity in south america. after falling deeply in love with the indigenous peoples and brightly colored textiles she decided to combine her passions into a sustainable design business. proud mary works with global artisans in the developing world to create their line of ‘ethnic-modern’ home and personal accessories. by combining a modern design aesthetic with traditional methods of production proud mary bridges the gap between fair trade and on trend/fast fashion.”
proud mary brings colourful handmade rugs, pillows and accessories, like wallets and totes, so you can either fill up your house with these warm patterns and colours or bring these with yourself whenever you go out! and as south america remains as one of my dream travels, this is another reason for me to absolutely love this project!
