hello good friends, how are you doing today? over here, it has been the usual with work and getting settled with so many new ideas for my shops! oh, before heading to out topic today, let me just thank you for the love and kindness in your comments to the latest wedding i published! it meant so much to me reading all of your appreciative words! and now let’s go to what brought me here today – local markets! can i just say that you should be prepared for such a dreamy place i’m about to show? for all the creative souls out there, you will love this for sure!
today our guest is filipa, the woman behind caravana bazaar, a business handmade with love and close to nature, really close! filipa works in a caravan beautifully arranged and parked in a delightful country field in alentejo. every detail seems to be perfectly coordinated, though it doesn’t look perfect, it looks lived instead.
what is caravana bazaar after all? filipa says this on her facebook page!
“com a mudança de “vida”, de cidade, de rotina e de paisagem, a caravana bazaar encontrou, finalmente, o seu sitio. numa herdade, no alentejo, à sombra de um sobreiro maravilhoso, a caravana bazaar tem o seu primeiro encontro com a arte de criar novas peças e com a arte de receber quem por aqui passar. uma mistura de panos, texturas, cheiros, sabores, lãs, madeiras, cordas , linhas… tudo se junta numa só criação ou em mil criações diferentes.”
“with the change of “life”, city, routines and landscape, caravana bazaar has finally found its place! on a country field in alentejo, parked under a beautiful tree, caravana bazaar has its first meeting within the art of creating new pieces and the art of welcoming whoever stops by. a mixture of fabrics, textures, smells, tastes, wools, woods, ropes… everything gets together on one piece or thousands of pieces!”
if you are a creative person, who does work by hand just like filipa, i bet you would love to create in such a place. the amazing fresh air she receives, the smells around, the inspiration that comes from all the nature around, and the details with which she decorated her place are truly inspiring for creatives. i just imagine going to work to such a beautiful and quiet place like this! well, right now i’m already thinking how am i going to convince mr twiggs to go to this place for a visit! i’d be in heaven if i could take pictures in such a beautiful place!
filipa writes on her blog about her creations, and if you get interested in something, you should definitely contact her for details! her pieces are absolutely charming and so inviting! they seem to come from our grandmother’s old trunk with a twist of modern design, by the way filipa mixes all those fabrics and textures together. this purse above is one of my favourites and perfect for fall!
so tell me, have you ever heard of caravana bazaar? what do you think of this?
