hello girls & boys! how are you doing? first of all, i wish to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the loving messages you wrote on this post. unfortunately some of you have already tasted the bitterness of receiving those news and those were tough days. but i’m also a believer that things happen for a reason, and though all of us in my family miss her terribly, we all know that it’s better this way and i feel some comfort in knowing that and feeling that she’s here with us in some way! on the other side of such news, last saturday i celebrated the wedding of one of my best friends and it was a happy day, as she is also expecting a baby and it was one of those days in which i got together with some friends that i hadn’t seen in quite a while. oh and i may have caught the bouquet, so i don’t know what that means, but…
and on another side of these news, sunday was also a fabulous day as i achieved one goal that was present on my photographer mind for ages – i finally put my hands on a canon 5d mark ii and i couldn’t be happier! i started photography with this camera and actually started selling prints taken with that same camera. it was all about the processing and learning how to make my best with what i had. then back in april last year, i finally upgraded to this camera and i was so thrilled. a new world was opening before my eyes, and it was a new adventure, learning about aperture and shutter speeds. understanding the differences between lenses was a struggle (and still is actually!), but managing focus, speed and depth of field was amazing and magical at the same time! and now upgrading to this beauty does feel good. feels like a goal that has been reached and i’ll be honest with you, carrying a professional camera also gives you a boost on your ego. not that i didn’t feel confidant and not that i didn’t know what i was doing, or did my best to provide professional services and high-quality images, but now it feels a whole different level of professionalism. and now it’s all about saving for lenses… yes, that will be a new challenge! there are so many on my wishlist… but for now, changing the 50mm from a cropped body to a full-frame is also a new experience, so it feels like a new lens as well!
these images are not the best for quality check, but i was also very tired yesterday and with this hot weather, there weren’t many options around. but there are some photo sessions to be shared in the meantime, so then you’ll see what i have for you! see you tomorrow!
