yes my friends, i must confess that someday i will be coming here and saying that i’m tired of winter. and the rain hasn’t even arrived yet! i told you that i might feel this way in january or february. but actually i usually feel like this because of the rain. i like the rain, i like when it’s pouring rain outside and i can either watch it from the window or just listen to it, holding a cup of hot tea on one hand and a cookie on the other. i like the coziness of a warm home during winter. i like blankets and throws and pillows. i like to cuddle inside! but there is always this time of the year, in which i feel i’ve had enough of all this and i start to crave for warmer days. it’s not even sun shining days, because in lisbon that’s actually pretty common (yes, lucky us!), but the warmer part. those days in which you just put on something light to wear and you feel good. there is no need for coats, nor boots. i want those days again! and of course, it’s a sign that i’ve been finding myself lately going through my summer photo archives. and i love when i find old not-edited photos and spend time editing them and bringing them back to life. here are some of the last ones i’ve worked on!
and about this weekend:
+ not just this weekend, but since the year has started, i went back for some flickr love, so every day i enjoy flickr while i have my breakfast (i’m loving to catch up on my flickr friends and finding new ones to feel inspired by)!
+ yesterday i spent the whole day cleaning the kitchen from clutter from the last 4 years. i smile now when i walk into my kitchen. it made me feel good again about my small home and pretty inspired to change things a bit around (i used to love that, somehow i stopped doing that in the last months)!
+ related to the previous topic, i registered on ikea family live and uploaded some images of my home!
+ after managing to get my reader back to zero items to read, i searched for new design blogs to look for new ideas for small homes! i might blog more about interior design here, just because i need to keep myself inspired!
+ i’ve decided to change a few things on the blog, and asides of posting more of these kind of posts, i will also start answering your comments on the blog, instead of replying to your personal email (i started thinking about all those that come here and read your comments, and have no idea of what i answered back, so it might be nice for others to see it as well)!
enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends!

First I miss the spring days already (I don’t even ask for summer), the sun, the flowers, the longer days and not this short cloudy cold depressing days! I miss the smell of the sea… oh I miss so many things! But specially the sun
As for your house, I love it, so cosy yet so modern and with amazing light! Beautiful place in the heart of Lisbon. You should create a section just for decorating small places, as even in IKEA, all their small places are always full of useful space, which isn’t always the case in our places.
That reminds me I need to go and buy some decorating stuff for my new place. I miss the photos I used to have back in Lisbon, to make this house a little bit more like home :)
Wish you a great week ahead

well then you should go ahead and buy some things to make you happy in those cold cold days, until spring arrives my dear!! start by buying some flowers! it could do the trick! have a lovely day!
MissLilly says
Well, that’s a nice idea. I believe I will start by buying some frames and print some photos (just discovered I have a kodak printer at home!), so at least I can feel it as my Home.
It’s a shame I don’t spend that much time at home, but mostly in hotel rooms :(
But fortunately I have your dear blog so I can fly back to Lisbon and to sunny days, thanks!
twiggs says
oh hotel rooms! most people would think that you have that nice life because you are staying in hotels, so you have all that breakfast to delight yourself in the morning, but they forget that checking in and checking out after a few times, gets boring and all we want is our home, end of discussion! no hotel breakfasts can win that! though it’s always a good thing! about the printer, if it gets too complicated, you can always take that to any kodak store. they have these print machines, in which you do all the work. the quality depends much on the store though…

Well, I ‘m sure that the days you are wishing for are just a little breath away once you are living in beautiful & sunshiny Lisbon!
So you can enjoy making more lovely pictures of your favorite places :)… and have less clothes around your home ; ) Speaking of that, good for you for decluterring your litchen! It’s always a good thing both for practical/ aesthetic & emotional purposes. It is and has been a personal necessity of mine whether I lived in 22sm² {the smallest space I’ ve ever lived for 2 years when I was 23}, 40, 70, 140, 65, 80 or 95 sm²…
Thank you for the warm comments you left on my latest post : ) I have quite a few I should be directly replying to much like you started doing here. I guess I’ll have to make time for that any time soon.
Good night!

hello my friend, oh you should be sleeping by now! :) yes you so right! i know that anytime soon sun will be warmer and the days as well. it’s just a matter of time! regarding the kitchen you are so right! it affects our emotional state so much! i feel so tired after cleaning, but oh so happy and if like all my stress is gone, like a clean slate. i do believe that each one of us is different and has different needs regarding the surroundings whether it’s a home or the office, i do need things to be tidy and organized, and this might not mean always clean & white. i just need order and relaxing colours that fit the overall space.
you’re welcome about the comment and this new rule is quite pleasing so far! have a lovely night!

Bom trabalho!

Oh, dear friend, you best avoid Denmark from October through May! It is terribly rainy and dark here, but I find it oddly cozy and I love the excuse to pile on sweaters and scarves. I did occur to me earlier today, though, that all the snowsuits and snow boots are an awful lot of work… those I could do without! I prefer to stay inside when it snows!

It’s great to be able to go back through our old photographs and relive those delish summer moments, isn’t it!? Lovely soft blue tones in these water landscapes!
