hi there friends, how are you feeling today? already making plans for the weekend? yes, it’s almost here! two more days to go and we’re done with another week! we’ll be going away, so i think that i’ll be able to rest, go for some walks and also a photo shoot! ok, some work as well! but to entertain you a little bit while the weekend doesn’t arrive, today i’m going to share photos from some of the shops i visited in new york. but before i start, let me just tell you that before we flew there, i had a list. you know what i’m talking about, right? that list of all the gorgeous shops we see online and other people talking about, but never visited before. so now it was my big opportunity to do it! but as you know, i’m still a very shy photographer (yes, i know!) so some of the shops came just in my memories, instead of coming inside a memory card. that was the case with magnolia bakery, anthropologie… and some others. i did ask once to take pictures of a shop, but that was in brooklyn and for that one in particular i’ll write a full post about it, because it was that amazing! so let’s start, shall we? and let’s start by the gorgeous tiffany!
of course, i wasn’t the only taking pictures of the windows… they looked like a magical kingdom… sigh… and then, right next to tiffany, we have fao schwartz, the legendary toy store. it was madness inside, as you can guess… christmas + toys + tourists + new york… well it was worth it just by this small miniature town!
and then we have the glorious kate spade! how could i not go inside? i admit, i just wanted to hold these shoes! and in fact they were even more gorgeous! ok, i may not want to get married, but give a bride in these and i believe that she is having a beautiful party, just because she chose these for her wedding! they have this outrageous tone with a fairy tale twist! and now moving on to another beautiful shop, though i don’t do anything that requires what they sell here… purl soho!
yes, it was so inviting inside! everything was smooth and warm. boys and girls looking around for some yarn, fabrics or going through books. lovely ladies knitting or sewing, with a smile on their faces, always available for you. and the one in the corner was indeed really nice when i asked if i could take a picture (yes, i asked this time too!). and now to end this post, i shall leave you with some images from bergdorf-goodman, a department store on the 5th avenue. windows were exquisite… almost like in a movie… elegance and audacity are the adjectives that come to my mind. see you tomorrow my friends!
p.s. for the wedding photography fans, i posted a sneak-peek of a wedding on my portfolio blog!

Oh, I just love shops & shop avenues & window shopping! Of course my still materialistic nature gets this “little” extra happiness when purchasing something, but in all cases I love the magic worlds in shops. Toys are among my favorites, especially this season! This year other than ordering some things on line and planning the new home, I haven’t had the pleasure at all to wander in shops during Christmas. ok Unless we are talking about Ikea ; )
I have enjoyed very much your New York pictures these days. So well done!
Even though it seems improbable at the moment, visiting NY would be nice, as there is also a family friend who could offer accommodation. I’m rather afraid I would be totally lost in such a huge city with enormous buildings!
European cities & destinations seem more my cup of tea for the time being. And the East, I’d love to visit the East!
Anyway, I also wanted to thank you about your mail inquiring about our movement process sent weeks ago. I’m way over behind on catching up with mails, after not being connected & checking them for quite some time. So for the time being, I wanted to pass by and say thanks here. I’ m sure you’ll do {and have already done} just fine with all the issues that you mentioned ; )
Enjoy the rest of the week Claudia & your weekend away you lucky girl ~
Kind regards,
Iro
