hello good friends, how are you? are you having a good and exciting friday 13? i’ve been a little busy bee today, editing photos of past photo sessions… and to be honest i can’t wait to have them all ready to share them with you! so, today, as promised on facebook, i would have another new york story for you. and so that you know i thought i could organize this in many ways, but i couldn’t figure out a definite schedule, so i’ll write as i think about some topics/experiences i want to share, deal? i want to, not only, share with you some stories about the last vacations, but also, let you some advice in case you travel to nyc this year! well, when you travel to nyc what do you visit? exactly… the same and usual suspects. empire state building, rockefeller center, 5th avenue, radio city music hall… the museums, and so many more. manhattan has so much to see, that there would be no way that in 18 days we would be able to cover it all, but that was not the point. the point was to embrace the city, sightseeing the usual things, but also allow ourselves to wander in the city. and walk, walk a lot. and then we got in the subway, because we were tired of walking. well, after a few days, there’s no need of walking 40 blocks every single day, right?
let’s talk about the tree on rockefeller center. ok, so new yorkers you will forgive me, but maybe some of you actually agree with me. that tree is not that fancy! ok, it’s huge, we all get that… but what’s about those lights? couldn’t someone think about other kind of christmas decoration for that tree? but ok, the golden boy has its charm and i always like to take a picture of it with all those ice-skating there.
anyway, the thing that made me thrilled to fly to this city again by christmas time is exactly because of christmas. the decorations, the details, the colours… every building has its wreath, some of them in every window. there are christmas balls every where… and fairylights. christmas makes everything looks magical. but on the other hand, there is the fuss and rush about christmas. everyone is almost running to the stores, there are even more tourists in this time of the year, everyone wants to buy or see something. and let’s say that we both appreciated much more when we took our walks down to soho… which we did on our first day, all the way from grand central station to grand st, so that i could visit warby parker bazaar! and we loved those quiet streets and not so tall buildings. and this is it for now! have a great weekend, my friends!! enjoy these two days… and for us that live in portugal, well, it seems that really cold days are expecting us!

Oh Twiggs, I must admit: I’m envious of you! New York never attracted me particularly, but Never say Never! After your pics, something is changed :D
Have a nice week end!

I completely agree with you, that tree is ugly! and it continues to be ugly year after year…
