hello there lovely friends, how are you doing today? feeling energetic for the rest of the week? i hope so! well, since yesterday i have been practicing a new rule for the time management issue, which is related to the email! have you tried to log out from your email while you’re working? whow, major difference! now i’m completely focused on one thing only and that feels so good! i think i might gather around some tips and write about it one of these days! so, as promised yesterday today we would go to take a walk on some museums in new york. but you know how museums can be overwhelming, right? it doesn’t have to be the louvre to take a while to see, observe and embrace everything your eyes are seeing… and as an artist, i might also say embrace everything your heart is feeling. because art is something that makes us feel something. well, at least the artist meant it that way. so today we shall go to the guggenheim and we’ll stay there ok?
guggenheim is one of my favorite museums, because asides of its architecture, which is always interesting, it always has something different to see. last time i was in new york, the facade was being renovated, which is always a treat when you’re on vacations and that building/museum/whatever you are visiting is having renovation work. all the pictures you thought about taking… well, no need to say what happens, right?
this time, guggenheim was having a very exquisite exhibition by maurizio catellan, an italian artist based in new york. his work is indeed filled with provocative images and the most intriguing one is a sculpture with the pope john paul ii laying down hit by meteorite.
so as you see on these images, the whole exhibition had all these sorts of sculptures and objects hanging from the ceiling. the view from the main hall was amazing and everything seemed too real, almost in a creepy way. as you would go up, you would see more and more details of each sculpture and you were able to find other sculptures that were not visible from the ground.
one tip for all the new york fans and that wish to go there soon, if you’re planing on visiting the museums and other attractions, do buy the new york city pass. i didn’t buy it the last time and now i realized how great this pass is. not only you save some money (around $30), because you have access to 5 main attractions for $79, you also step every line you find on the museums. and this my friends, during christmas time, is something very very precious! i hope you enjoyed the trip for the day!
ps. for all the portuguese readers, have you seen my renovated portfolio website? i will be posting photo sessions these next weeks!

I am intrigued by the installation, it looks really interesting and I’ve not come across the artist before. I went to NY ten years ago and I completely fell in love with the Guggenheim; Wright’s design blew me away, and I thought the collections inside were amazing!
