… what can we do on our break from work? how about baking some bread? well, you know me, i love to eat… and being on a diet now is not my most desirable way of living, but this shall pass! and as i was saying, i love to eat and i love to eat some good bread with melting butter on it, if i am willing to make it even better! and eating some good bread is so hard to find these days, more even if you are on a big city. so i decided to bake my own. but let’s take baby steps and as usual, i bake my own buying some already prepared flour. i know, i know, i need to grab a decent bread recipe and try it on! but though i already shared this recipe with you, i need to share that i added something different this time, so the bread came out more delicious!
and this was the novelty here… i added some muesli that i had on a jar and neither me or mr twiggs often eat that for our breakfast. if used, it will be on yogurt shakes i prepare for a snack in the middle of the afternoon! so, asides the banana, i added 6 spoons of this muesli and mixed with the flour, before adding the water. so 500gr of bread flour + 6 spoons of muesli + 300ml of water. mix everything until the dough has pulled together and leave it covered for 2h with a damp cloth, letting it rise.
after those 2 hours, shape your bread as you wish and leave it covered again on a warm place for another hour. then it goes to a pre-heated oven for about half an hour. i cannot tell you how much you need to pre-heat the oven, because my oven does not tell the temperature… yes, it is that old! it lights with matches… so all in know is minimum, medium and high temperature. and here it is… freshly baked muesli bread out of the oven…
delicious with melting butter… specially when you are chewing the raisins. and there you have it… muesli bread for a couple of days! perfect for toasts with jam!

I love baking!! I do it for a living and am always on the hunt for new, delicious recipes to try for my own personal delight. I have never had muesli though, but I am excited to try it!
