… and not the place itself. as they say home is where your heart is… and this may have several meanings… home is where you feel good, whether it is a huge place or the smallest on earth… your own country or a foreign one. your heart may feel good in several places… and sometimes you may not find a clear explanation for that good feeling. that is why i created these two posters… one that reminds me my love for the city i am about to visit in exactly one month, and where i feel at home like if i lived there… and the other one because i live in the smallest apartment, and i love it because everyone who has been here says the same thing… looks like a doll house (though it is not all pink, nor has the romantic look at all), and everyone feels cozy here. maybe because it is small.
and today i had one delicious meeting (hence the posting this late!), but my friend marianna of {i am dorkas} and her boyfriend armando of {him in the kitchen}, both also sponsors here, are in lisbon and we met for a coffee this afternoon! i think we all feel a bit nervous when we are about to meet in person someone you have been exchanging emails for quite a while. we wonder if we will recognize the person and how the conversation will follow… and of course, as i suspected, not even one strange feeling, we talked like if we were friends for ages! and the amazing thing is that we booked our place in new york today and i think we’ll be neighbours in brooklyn! yay!

I believe home is made by the good memories we have about the place, it’s the feeling of belonging. I was living in a tiny apartment too but it’s still where I feel like home, because of all the good times I had there, because the memories of us together (our cat included) as a family.
Love the 1st poster, really :)
By the photos your house seems to be quite cozy and adorable

I know exactly what you mean about the coziness of a small place. My mom calls our tiny apartment the mini-house, which by the way annoys my husband to dead, because he finds it more depreciatory rather than complimentary. He would never admit that at loud though, he does a very good job portraying the good son-in-law. :D Anyway, apart from those divergences, everyone seems to feel good at our place and I think that is part because it is small and cozy, and part because we made it our face. Everything feels like us. We love receiving people here and we manage to do small dinner parties, a few friends at a time of course, and we always get that “feels so good in here” and “this place is so You”… and it is the best to feel that, because that’s really why we love this place so much, it feels like Us, our place, our little home.
