{random stories} :: 8 months-old

oh my, mr kobe is 8 months-old already… and i am so proud of him! but on the other hand it seems that he is with us since forever. he is a part of our family, though i am always careful to not think of him as a person, he belongs to our home! one couple + a dog! it sounds so much better than just one couple. so… what are the news? he keeps growing and growing, but always looking elegant and strong! i think he might have reached 30kgs/66lb! hopefully he will grow a lot slower from now on, so as said the vet! and i so want to believe her! he continues to be a little bit persistent, but either he is less than he used to be, or i am the one who adapted myself to that persistence and found my own way of letting him know that i am the one in charge! he continues to be very obedient most of the times… but from time to time, he just acts like deaf! uh, annoying!

he keeps very protective and will bark at someone when he feels something strange… the difference is that now he is this huge dog and people already ask if he bites. however it is curious because quite often kids that are playing in the park, come to us and ask if they can pet him. the thing is, they are all energetic and excited because they are playing in the park… while mr kobe is usually tired from running back and forth… so he doesn’t pay that much of attention to the children!

but the great news is that my “little” fellow is starting to act like a grown-up, which means… watch out ladies! this dog is getting ready for you! cute or not, he will go after you! yes, i instantly know when there is a female dog around, because he acts differently. he gets a tiny bit more excited! mr kobe also acts like a grown-up dog, because he leaves his mark on trees and walls… meaning he is already lifting his leg! yay! i am so proud! my dog is lifting a leg already! oh, he has another favourite thing to chew… inside the house! when he gets away with getting inside our bedroom, jumps to the bed, and will always seek for mr twiggs ear plugs, made of wax… and swallows them… in less than a second. i am praying that everything strange he is eating… is coming out as well… because the last thing we need is surgery!

(ups, the focus! i had not much time, because he was watching a dog across the park and maybe a female, because he was crazy!)

(please don’t mind my hair, it is something not to be mentioned in these days now, ok?)

as you can see he has huge legs! regarding what he loves the most… this park is on top of the list! before we even cross starbucks (exactly on the other side of the road), he will start pulling me to the road… and sits right next to the crosswalk, waiting for the order to cross it. he loves to play fetch with sticks, but instead of getting them back to me, he will lay down on the grass and chews them. when he feels that i am starting to walk him out of the park… he puts on his refusal mode and lies again on the grass, like telling me “i don’t wanna go home yet, ok?” . once this group of people were exactly talking about how great pets are, and he does this right next to them… well, i don’t need to say that they loved him and thought he was so cute!

and yes, i love to watch him sleep… the thing is as we rescued him, and we hear so many bad things that people do to dogs, that i love to watch him sleep, peacefully in his comfortable home, where he is loved. maybe we do not have a huge house, nor a back yard… but he has everything he needs and asides from the discipline he needs, he is loved. they are best friends with us, if we treat them well. they will never judge, nor betray… that is the truth. and this is kobe… 8 months-old, on his way to become a grown-up dog!
