being 7 months-old is reason enough for me to break the ongoing easy schedule that has been happening here, i think, right? after all, my sweet puppy that arrived like {this} has turned into a huge dog, full of himself, really protective that barks to the strangers, lover of sun, running free on the grass, jumping into our bed, stealing the pillows from the chairs and his (once ours!) sofa… the sweet light puppy has turned into a 28kgs/62lbs dog, taller than his 6 year-old best friend labrador.
this “little” pal here is going through some major personality issues, just like any teenager. he thinks he runs the house, very stubborn when i walk him, he loves to meet new doggy friends, loves playing with balls (a few weeks ago i let him loose on the park and he went running like crazy, caught a ball that a kid was playing with and ran away with it hanged by his teeth… so you can just imagine my face, running like crazy after him, calling his name!), loves to chew phone wires, cable wires (anything useful around the house!), he has all his adult teeth by now, but still loves to chew something ours… the sofa is still a victim, and we should never, but ever, leave shoes in the living-room and go to sleep. we already lost 5 pairs of shoes under these circumstances!
living in a small apartment i always had concernings about having a dog, but then after making the decision about adopting one, soon i realized that it is not about the space, but about the exercise you provide. in truth i say that 85% of his time inside is spent sleeping + 10% playing with us + 3% drinking water (he drinks a lot of water!) + 2% eating (he eats reaaaally fast!). i go out with him 3/4 times a day and one of those times is a huge walk of at least 45min. he gets home so tired, he almost falls asleep before getting inside!
he is really protective, so i feel all safe if i have to go out with him at night, he will bark if something feels strange to him, and i so trust him! he feels less car sick, but we also make an effort for that… how? we distract him! whenever we think he might be feeling noxious, we start to talk to him, making strange sounds to have his attention on something else, we call his friend’s name… this happens sometimes during 15minutes non-stop. we love him that much!
he loves going to a certain park, so he pulls me over there… he loves to run wild there, but throw a stick, make him run, and just let him be chewing that stick quietly and he is in heaven! his name keeps having people confused… apparently no one knows kobe bryant. so last week a couple of kids came to us and asked if they could touch him, and one of the girls (like 12 years-old) asked his name and i said kobe. her question “oh, like the singer colbie caillat?”… “errr no… like the basketball player kobe bryant.” her face was “oh… (whatever!)”. and this is kobe… at 7 months-old!

hes so handsome now, looks like a real gentleman, even if he isnt alway acting like one just yet!! I love to read your stories about mr kobe, reminds me so much of our zé pequeno when he was growing up, he also used to steal balls from small children on the beach and run away with them, so embarrassing! xxx

What a handsome young pup! The growing up years take allot of energy, but make such great memories :)
