cool shops :: ler devagar

November 3, 2010 filed under: cool shops, lisbon stories, photography

so… as promised, from time to time, i will share with you my favourite places in lisbon. first because i want to share with you these places that i love and until this moment, happen to give me a tremendous pleasure just to visit… whether in sunny days or in rainy ones. in this first edition i want, as something that was carefully thought, to share with you one of my favourite spots to wander in lisbon. is a place called {lx factory}… being {lx} the short for lisbon.

“an urban fragment, kept hidden for years, is now returned to the city in the form of {lx factory}. a creative island occupied by corporations and professionals of the industry serves also has stage for a diverse set of happenings related to fashion, publicity, communication, fine arts, architecture, music, etc., attracting numerous visitors to rediscover alcântara through an engaged dynamics”

among the several places i am passionate about in {lx factory}, one i am particularly in love with is a book store called {ler devagar}… or in eglish something like reading slowly. this was an ancient graphic factory, and in fact they kept the old machinery, which gives the whole place an industrial look. if you live in lisbon or you happen to be here, i strongly advise you to stop by and wander… take a cup of coffee… drink a glass of wine… buy a book (or several), have dinner… sit and watch all the other readers, go to the first floor and admire the art exposition… sit by the window… because here… all this is possible.

… you can visit {ler devagar} here:

Rua Rodrigues Faria,103,
1300-501 LISBOA
(Antiga Gráfica Mirandela em Alcântara)

they are also in {facebook}. hope you have enjoyed this little piece on {stories from lisbon} have a delicious day!
