diy :: golden pinecones

December 19, 2013 filed under: diy projects, make

as soon as i finished editing these pictures and got them ready to upload to the blog, i thought to myself “whoever sees this, will think that there was no reason to blog about such a simple and easy project, that maybe this wasn’t even worth it!”. but the thing is that none of these christmas diy projects are rocket-science, but that’s the whole point! let’s do easy things that we can manage in one afternoon, instead of going to the mall and buy our christmas decor. why not do it ourselves, no matter how simple they seem? and for those who have kids at home, this is one great way to get them to join you on the christmas decor, from the very beginning!

i was reading this post yesterday (and as a matter of fact, this blog has so many cool ideas), and i thought that it could be amazing to grow up and having this christmas tradition of gathering around a table doing a few projects every year with your parents! these are the memories that will stick with us and make us smile!

so today, another very simple project, that starts by going on a walk to the woods to pick up some pinecones! and then give them a golden spray, like i did with the leaves here! and then it’s up to you where to put them! i liked having them on an old drawer in a small glass cup or even as a garland by the window!
