at home :: the bedroom

isto de nos mudarmos de uma casa minúscula para uma bem maior tem grandes vantagens, mas também nos traz o desafio de redecorar tudo novamente. muitas vezes a uma velocidade lenta, porque o que trazemos quase que cabe numa ou duas divisões e há toda uma casa para “encher”. mas claro, nós gostamos mesmo destas coisas assim… lentas, a tomar forma, a tomar decisões quando nos parecem mesmo acertadas e não por impulso, gostamos de sentir a casa primeiro, e perceber o que realmente faz falta e o que nos parece giro para esta casa nova.

o quarto foi das divisões que fomos deixando para trás (se bem que todas as outras estão assim como que digamos… inacabadas), e passaram-se meses até poder abrir as janelas, estores e tudo… porque não havia cortinados pendurados e vivemos agora num r/c. mas lá foi, uns meses depois um senhor que restaurava as janelas de madeira cá de casa fez-me o favor de pendurar o varão, os cortinados e ainda uma prateleira. e agora sim, o quarto começa a ganhar forma, a ganhar personalidade.

ainda faltam umas coisas, claro está, mas por agora deixa-me muito feliz. e fico ainda mais feliz pelas almofadas que agora estão disponíveis na minha loja do etsy e cujas encomendas começam a chegar! uma já foi desviada para o nosso quarto!

the thing about moving from a tiny house to a much bigger one has huge advantages, but also a great challenge, which is redecorating all over again. however this redecorating is on a very slow pace, because what we bring fits in one or two rooms and there is a whole house to “fill”. but we also love things like this… on a slow pace, to makes us feel the house, to makes think about what we really enjoy, what really fits our new place.

our bedroom was one of the rooms we kept leaving behind (not that the other ones are finished, but still…) and it’s been months until we were finally able to open the windows and shades, because we didn’t have our curtains hanged and we live on a ground-floor.  but we’re done with that now and we can finally enjoy our curtains, the sun and all the light coming inside. and now i finally feel the bedroom with character and more us! there are still a few things left to buy or to hang, but it’s beautiful as it is, with the pictures, the shelf and the plants! i love ivy all over the place! this is how we can decorate a bedroom with plants and ikea, and still give it your own style.

and i’m even happier, because i now have throw pillows available on my etsy shop, orders are arriving and one of the pillows was detoured to our bedroom! i may have to design another one that fits the greener tones though!
