hello friends, how are you? sorry for being mia yesterday, but apparently there were local technical problems and there was no internet all day long, so i took the day off for a bit of wandering and photo taking on the botanical garden, which is beautiful this time of the year. moving on to our find today, so we have something that has been on my bookmarks for quite a while. we find new projects every now and then, some more interesting than others, and this one surely belongs to the “more interesting” side! but first what is quitokeeto?
“quitokeeto is an online pop-up shop stocked with a short list of items we love – a mix of new, found, and collaborative. the shop is curated by heidi swanson + wayne bremser, and will be open on occasion. we look forward to doing more of these in the future, around various themes – influenced by people we’ve met, places we’ve been, and items we’ve come across.
the vibrant yellow circle pattern of this hand-thrown cookie jar set the tone for the second collection of items. the simple shapes and soft range of blues in this small, scandinavian oil painting from the 1940’s loosely inspired the first collection of items which you can still browse as well. there’s a very good chance we’ll restock items from previous collections when they become available, to be notified just include your email below the description of the item you’re interested in.”
quitokeeto is a project by the lady behind 101 cookbooks and so many other projects, as she is a photographer, cookbook author and occasional designer. one of the things i love the most about blogging is the research behind it! and for example, the pleasure of finding out about projects like quitokeeto and then find 101 cookbooks is tremendous!
quitokeeto is made of several collection they launch throughout the year. they have recently launched a new collection two days ago and when you browse through their collection, you find that it’s a very small collection. however the items are really exquisite and unique. you find traditional items like this knife above by opinel made in france, or the modern cake flags by herriot grace.
as usual, i find the photography one of the elements that brought my attention to this project, because it’s so bright and honest and of course, i love when items are shown being used as they are supposed to! my favourites? i have no idea, because i love them all and would buy them all for different friends and family for this holiday season! for me i would probably want this vintage yellow dutch oven casserole! how can i resist to this?!
as it’s quite hard to resist to this wrapping cloth, which serves so many purposes! i love when items have this flexibility! and the stripes? oh the stripes! i want a whole new kitchen to go along with this! ah! that would be a great idea!
and now i might go and delight myself in a very italian way with some fresh bread (courtesy of the inspirational bread photo above!), olive oil, goat cheese, basil and black olives!
