good morning, how are you doing? i hope you had a nice weekend! ours was really good, we started picking our oranges from our tree and mr kobe was delighted to be outside exploring! and then bath time for everyone, including mr kobe who is now smooth as silk! i also had the pleasure of spending countless hours on pinterest and went back to flickr! flickr is special to me, because to be honest everything started there, but with so many socila networks these days, it’s hard to keep up with everything and flickr ends up being the one left behind.
i find flickr really appealing, but on the other hand it’s quite time consuming, but all so worth it, because you get to feel so inspired by what others do, keep up with your friends that live far away and it has the positive thing of being merely visual. i know, you also have instagram for that, but with instagram you don’t work your photos that much. and i know that you have a lot of freedom regarding photo editing, but please it’s not comparable with tools like lightroom or photoshop.
so tell me, are you on flickr? what do you think about it? do you use it just for image storage? to link the images to your blog? or do you keep up taking photos thinking about uploading them to flickr and wait for your friends and contacts reactions and feedback on your latest work? i feel that every time i go back it’s addictive again, it’s so visual and there are so many interesting and talented photographers there that i loose track of the time i spend there.
and well, these were from a walk last weekend. it was a good one-hour walk through restelo that ended up on a well-known croissant cafe! it was a beautiful fall day, though a bit windy! this neighbourhood is quite amazing. there are so many huge houses, old houses next to the very modern houses and a few embassies as well! it’s one of those neighbourhoods in which we never even dreamed about living, because it’s just not within our means! not today, not this year, not ever! i can never resist to thinking what these folks do to afford such places? what’s their job?
and i will come back with more on monday’s favourites! i have a new interior design crush! and in the meantime, tell me your thoughts about the social networks! what do you think about that? i mean, which social networks do you use the most? which ones you leave behind? do you use flickr? if so, what do you use it for? can’t wait to read your thoughts on this! leave them here!

First thing, I love those gargoyles! Next, you better grab a cup of tea cos I’ve got a lot to say!
I too started on flickr back in 2007 and it is something I return to time and again. I love it and also find it so inspirational. I’ve met some lovely people over the years, including my dear friend Monica who was one of my first ever contacts. I love to upload photos on there, I appreciate the feedback and the chat, but I tend to be a bit more curatorial than I was at the start now! I don’t use it as a promotional tool, it’s just for fun. Without flickr I don’t think I ever would have become this passionate about film photography either. It was constantly finding film images that I really responded to that made me dig out my old SLR 4 years ago. So many people there are genuine, life long lovers of film and the forums are really useful, helpful resources. Nowadays film has become trendy, but it will pass…but the flickr diehards will always be there!
As for other networks, I dislike the majority. I don’t have a twitter or instagram. I only use facebook to update my page but now you will have to start paying for it I may well not continue. I quite enjoy tumblr, it can be very low maintenance and quick, easy to skim through what bores you. Best of all for me is blogging. It is so much more personal, I like that you can give as much or as little of your time as you have to spare on it. I really enjoy reading others and I guess the time I’m not wasting on FB, tweeting or instagramming means I can engage, read and be more mindful in blogworld.
Sorry for the long reply, and I know I have an unusual pov with regards to networking, but that’s just me!
xx

oh my friend, i am always more than happy to read your comments here! i see your points, and though i have twitter, i use it mainly to share and promote posts, etsy and society6 work. i can’t keep up with it. as for instagram, i don’t have a smart phone, so no instagram for me either. i do a bit of micro-blogging on my facebook page, which is great because people respond a lot to that and there are a lot of folks who don’t have the time to read blogs. i am a blogger and most of the times i can’t find time to read them myself! but i’m with you on the flickr issue, it’s always good to go back and to find out what others are doing and it’s incredible how we can keep up with friends we met there and have evolved so much! thank you so much for your time!!!
