hello here we are again at the beginning of a brand new week! and as some say the beginnings are always exciting right? so, let’s start with something smooth that i have learned to love and maybe you share the same thoughts! today’s favoruite is porcelain! i’ve been noticing a few interior styling trends and though this is not one huge trend (as been around for a while now), i don’t think i’ve ever seen so many artists providing with different styles and still pretty affordable pieces, making porcelain pieces both useful and a great touch to a room. now what do you think about when i mention porcelain?
to be honest, i can think about ugly things… or at least i would think about ugly things a few months ago. i remember growing up with porcelain dolls and figures around the house. i must confess that i’m not that excited about the interior decor style around the 80’s on this country! my mom had a few chinese plates and figures on a huge dark colour cabinet, which i never understood. chinese plates and figures? why? and whenever i made fun of those she would come up with a very serious tone that she had bought them in lisbon on a very famous place that burned in 88 and i could only think silently on my head “not even if the queen of england had offered these to you, you could get away with chinese figures on our living-room!”. so this story is to tell you that porcelain was not on the top of my list. but then enter these…
these are so delicate and i can only feel some calmness coming from these. they are a great touch to the room, look beautiful with plants or without and some even have a proper function, like the planters or the desk catch-all. i also have a crush on the string lights, because they would look seriously good on every place, particularly on our backyard!
so what do you think about these? what are your thoughts in porcelain? share them here!

awwwww and I for sure love those!!! I love minimalistic designs, straight lines! I love the spal collections too!
I have to agree, the “vista alegre” services we used to have, the porcelain dolls, it was just too much. But the new modern lines I totally love them

yes, i agree some of the china we grew up with was not the most beautiful china in the world! though i must say that vista alegre has much more than people imagine! i worked at a store who sold their brand and they have really gorgeous things, but these things were not the most common. i find these porcelain pieces really exquisite and delicate!
