inspired by samm blake

today i want to introduce you to samm blake who keeps inspiring me with her amazing work as a photographer. she’s from australia, country that i feel more and more interested about, and she doesn’t do just one kind of photography, which obviously makes me feel even more inspired and connected to her.

i love the way she plays with the available light, which keeps as a common thread among all the photographers i admire, i love the amount of grain she has on her photos and the details, emotions and moods she captures either on people or on the surroundings. that is what also drives me in photography, the ability of not capturing just smiles, but also something that somehow is more intimate about that person.

i absolutely love the part where she states she loves “to document people in their most honest moments.” this is why it’s not all about smiles and posing for the camera. it’s about capturing the little moments, like if we are not even there. but we are and we get to capture those beautiful looks, hand holding walks, tender hugs and shy smiles.

you also have to see this bride’s dress, it’s magical! i hope you also feel inspired by samm and her sensitivity to the honest moments out there and the way she plays with everything she has in front of her camera! maybe one day i’ll get to see her in action if i ever visit australia!
