happy friday to you all my friends, how are you doing? today is a national holiday, so we’ll be leaving in a few hours to get together with our families in a very long time! we’ve been spending a lot of weekends in lisbon and with work and moving to a new house, we were really hoping for this weekend! though, of course, i might have to confess, that i absolutely love to spend the weekends in lisbon. there is this comfortable feeling, and almost soothing, in spending the weekend in my home, without that working mood around. though that is easier now that i have a room just for me, so i can just close the door at the end of the day and entertain myself cooking dinner, or just laying around in the living-room (have i mentioned that cable tv has come with the house so now we watch tv? yes!!! and i’m hooked to all those cooking programs, like top chef or masterchef or whatever! i still don’t watch any news though, it’s too depressing!).
so what is my simple thing today? a total cliche! taking pictures of my feet on beautiful grounds. yes, it’s a cliche, but i try to keep it original at the very least! i don’t just shoot around my feet! it’s way more than that! and it all began as a film project, but sometimes i cannot resist with my digital camera as well! there are so many beautiful details below our feet that i just cannot resist! and of course you can always follow my film adventure on my other blog (entirely dedicated to film, nothing else!)
if the thing about photography has taught me to look into the world with another set of eyes, and everything seemed new to me, looking at the ground also does that. it opens our eyes, and sometimes beauty is not above our head or in front of our eyes. sometimes beauty is right there below our own feet. flowers that fall from the trees, for example, make beautiful natural carpets to walk on during spring and early summer months!
have a lovely friday!
