as promised on facebook, i’m here to introduce a whole new personal project i’ve been working on for a few months now. as you all know i love lisbon and if there’s something i’ve been doing for a long time, since i discovered photography is exactly exploring lisbon, its beautiful and charming quarters, corners and all the small details that make this city one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world. lisbon is well-known for its magical light, the rich architecture and friendly people. food is another “landmark” but as we all know, that’s a country characteristic, and not a lisbon-alone one.
one of the details i’ve been looking at more carefully is the tile that covers so many buildings in lisbon! it’s such a rich detail, composed by beautiful colours and patterns and it was impossible to me to get away from this. so i decided to start a personal project based on the tile i found all through lisbon, either capturing just the tile, or the whole wall where you can see the tile around the window, or door or even a mail box. it’s pretty amazing when you start to do this, because you notice that there are similar tiles all over the city.
i hope you enjoy and keep up with me on this, because i’ll start sharing the new finds i have (and of course, i have more under my sleeve!), and maybe these will become a book some day! i bet some of you would love that! so here i am, waiting for your feedback on this! what do you think?
