local markets :: trincar uvas

right on time for the grape season, today we have among us a lovely girl who comes from this country, but chose the netherlands to live. and i brought up the grape topic because her shop is called trincar uvas, which in our beloved language means to bite grapes! and as she says, it is one of her joyful pleasures (who can actually blame her for that?). joana pedroso is the one behind trincar uvas, which is an etsy shop dedicated to handmade jewelry, where natural elements make out with colours! trincar uvas is our local markets guest!

“trincar uvas is where i get to express myself. my aesthetics. what makes my senses tingle. what excites me and at the same time makes me feel like i’m home. with trincar uvas i get to play with precise geometric shapes and give them the texture and color of embroidery thread. and it’s the contrast of things that inspires me. the contrast between old and new, geometric and organic, tribal and modern, natural and man made, and so on.. the opposites attract me!”

the way she introduces herself is also lovely… and i felt connected with her on some of her short sentences!
