let’s hit the second round of pictures taken on a rainy sunday on the wide and mysterious garden of tapada das necessidades, in lisbon! as i had said previously, this garden surprised me that much! i knew i was going to find something nice and pretty, eventually it would be a lot bigger than i expected, but i wasn’t expecting the garden to be this big and containing so many good surprises. going through the garden was a mixture of excitement for discovering a new place, a bit scary because i was all alone and had no idea where i was going to and also the excitement for exploring abandoned houses i found right on the other side of the park. so far, i have no idea about these houses, who they belonged to, what are the stories behind those doors and windows, and why are they abandoned in such a sad way? so if you happen to know something about these houses, please share!
and yes, suddenly as expected actually, it started to rain cats and dogs as the british say! i was a bit nervous for my camera, but i was able to hide inside of a porch and just stood there contemplating everything that surrounded me in the silence, asides from the rain falling down. it was so beautiful, magical and quite mysterious. i wanted to open doors and explore more, but i wasn’t that brave!
so this is a piece of lisbon for the garden and parks lovers. i was amazed at all that i found and i really want to go back with a better day, though i find this light coming through rainy skies, really pretty and smooth. the tapada das necessidades garden is definitely a nice spot to spend a while away from all the rush from the city! if you enjoy reading quietly, take a walk amongst the greenery, take some pictures, sit down in the lawn and catch some sun, this is your place!
