[new feature alert!]
today, early in the morning, i mentioned on facebook some new boards on pinterest that i had created yesterday evening, while attempting to organize my pinterest boards in a way that truly inspired me when in look for something, instead of just a bunch of images that impulsively i was repinning to some boards. i tried to look for new pinners, photographers that i know of and admire much and created a few new boards, lifestyle photography was one of them.
there’s something really special about this kind of photography and it is the one i feel more close to, though i have not yet had the opportunity to have a few photo sessions that represent what lifestyle photography is. one of the photographers i truly admire on this kind of photography is luisa brimble. and i wanted to bring her here for you to get to know her work and what inspires me as a photographer.
“luisa brimble is a freelance photographer and designer whose images have been featured in various print and online publications including frankie magazine, kinfolk, harpers bazaar and grazia magazine. based in sydney, australia, she worked in marketing and graphic design before pursuing a career as an editorial photographer. her extensive portfolio features images that capture the beauty of home; images that exude warmth and celebrate simplicity and connection. she contributes as a journal writer and photographer for kinfolk journal.”
i absolutely love the way she captures light in such a raw way, making every scene feel almost poetic and so honest to itself, not pretending to be something that it’s not. i admire that in photography. that honesty to capture what is there and nothing else. luisa writes a blog about her findings and experiences in photography, if you liked what you saw, i strongly advise you to visit it and subscribe!
