hello there friends, i hope you’re having a great sunday! i’m about to leave the house for a delicious brunch with my photographer friends, elsa & rui, but i couldn’t leave without sharing something with you! as you know (and though i don’t keep this feature that regular, something i want to change for sure!) sundays are dedicated to sponsors, but as there are no news among the sponsors, i wanted to let you know a bit more about the sponsors i chose (aka affiliated links). just a nice note on these, as people tend to not like affiliated links or anything like this. but the truth is i spend a lot of time on this blog, i go out to take pictures to share with you, there’s a great effort in searching for cool things to share, and i do this because i want to and because it gives me a lot of pleasure. for me it’s like sitting on a room and have a conversation with you. so asides from having sponsors as a way of being compensated by all this time/effort, i don’t see any harm in having affiliated links. i don’t get paid for my opinions written here, i will only be compensated if you decide to buy something from these companies. and these companies are chosen very carefully – that is a full guarantee!
so, two months ago i ordered a book about polaroids from amazon, called instant love (even the name is dreamy!), but i wish i had known the book depository back then, as they have free shipping! and that my friends, is a winner for me! this online book shop has hundreds of books and i found a lot of them that suit my interests, like photography books, the book from jose villa about wedding photography, the books by pia jane bijkerk about paris, amsterdam and photography in general (gorgeous books, really need to get my hands on those) and so many more!
and it was a surprise when i found instant love on this online shop as well! so i guess that this is time for a review on the book! yes! well, i loved the book, it sure gives a lot of information on polaroids cameras, their characteristics and demands! it shows a lot of pictures taken with each one of the cameras and shares a lot of resources. it was a great book for information about the polaroid world. i’m not sure if i was expecting more from the book, because even if i was, i cannot say what it is. but it was a good book to bring on to my summer vacations and read while i was catching some sun! it sure did get me anxious to grab a polaroid camera! i think that these are so my style… so if you want to know more about polaroids, this is a fabulous book, even for its looks (hard cover, soft pages) and for its price! i usually don’t buy expensive books!
we have started a rule here at home, though i must confess we haven’t been that successful in these last two weeks, but we bought 4 books a few weeks ago and we promised each other that we would start to read more. so every night we go to bed and we read our books for a little while. it lasted while we finished our first book, and then the launch of my portfolio website and this blog again came in the and we lost that ritual, but it was so good, that we sure need to get back on that again!
so enjoy your weekend, and if you’re not a great reader, why not jump on the book depository and get yourself some books? i’ll get my hands on the keith richards biography for mr twiggs and some pia jane’s for me! yay! and yes, here are some pink sunsets we had two days ago… i simply couldn’t resist taking a few pictures, it was the most beautiful sky! have a nice sunday!

I didn’t know that website, but I used to order by play.com as you also don’t pay for delivery and they normally have very good prices. I love books as well, I just stop buying them as I now use my kindle (it’s no longer the same as the physical book)
Also I agree, such a beautiful sky

and i didn’t know about play.com! need to check that one out as well!! i love when there’s free shipping, because usually i’m ordering from the US or the UK, so shipping costs are expensive! and yes, miss lilly, i believe a kindle is pretty handy, but the feel of a good book in your hands cannot be mistaken by anything else! ;)

Those rooftop pics are amazing. I have to do something similar one day in Rome :-)
twiggs says
hello birgitte, thank you so much for your comment! those rooftops are right in front of my balcony, so these last few days i’ve been paying much more attention to the amazing colours during sunset. i edit a little bit, but i don’t change colours, so that you can see what i saw first! rome must have amazing rooftops to capture!
