hello there again! i’m back with another amazing artist! by the way, have you read the previous post about changes? i’m waiting for your questions! don’t be shy! let’s rock this new feature with awesome questions, that for sure others might have as well! so what do we have today? for starters this will be the last local markets feature of this month, and as we’ll be on a lighter mode in august, we0ll return in september with rocking artists! and i decided to end it with a talented girl (the least we could expect), she’s gorgeous (this is a 10 point bonus), she makes other women look fab (whow, 30 point bonus) and she’s actually family with another talented photographer, definitely one of my favourites, andré teixeira of branco prata. her name is cátia teixeira and she’s a beauty and make-up artist!
and one thing before we get into details about her, as a woman i don’t wear a lot of make-up. well, not since i started working from home. but i like some mascara, some eye-liner, a little bit of blush and not much more. i try to cover the somewhat darker shades below the eyes (oh late nights and not so healthy eating, this is what you’ve done to me!) and i think we’re done here! i may have herited amazing skin genes from my mom, so my skin is good. but as a photographer, i’ve been questioning myself how many hours would i save if my clients had some professional make-up! the thing is with professional make-up, our skin and eyes will look a lot better, and it actually gives a boost of confidence, so this would also be amazing for the photo session! so this is where i could use cátia’s talent! i haven’t worked with her (yet!) but i love her beautiful and the almost effortless work she does!
when i explored her blog, i was really happy to find that her blog actually reflects her taste in make-up. it’s sweet, simple and very elegant. even if you don’t like make-up, i don’t think you want to leave. the colours she uses, the light breeze among the photos, the suggestions she makes, everything works towards one of her favourites quotes from coco chanel:
“a woman must be two things: elegant and fabulous!”
so ladies let’s have a boost in our confidence and start looking at ourselves in the mirror and figure out what we could improve, just by dedicating some time to our most valuable business card: our eyes! and i’m not talking about the looks, or even this will imply a great use of heavy make-up! just the enough make-up to make you look even more beautiful! and in case you don’t know how to do it… ask cátia!
the photos were all taken by andré teixeira (the talent of this man keeps me impressive all the time!) for clients or for editorial sessions, and they portray the beautiful and different kind of make-up a woman can have, according to her own face, her clothing, the occasion, her taste… but regardless any of these reasons, they all have this elegant and simple touch! you can follow cátia teixeira’s work on her blog and also on facebook! and if you’re getting married… ladies, you have you make-up artist right here! she’ll do whatever it takes so that you can be the princess of your special day!

ohh gosh!!! I love her style!!! I don’t use make up, I mean literally none in my daily days, I rely mostly on my nice skin (thanks mom!). Sometimes, very rarely I use a bit of gloss and eye liner and that’s it too. First because I’m lazy, I don’t want to spend hours in make up, and second because I have no idea on how to make up the way I like. And what I like is exactly this, gorgeous natural looking make up. I’m in love!!! such a great team work between them. I’m a major fan of Branco Prata and now I’m a fan of Catia too.
And I have to say it’s an excellent idea. Did you already thought about a package if somebody would like to request both photo and make up? Love love the idea really. I had this photo session because I wanted to be on the other side of the lens, but I didn’t really enjoy it because it was studio. So I’m sure you and Catia would make a great team :)

hello miss lilly! oh yes, you are right, i’d love to team up with cátia, but she lives up in the north, so i think it won’t be that possible! but i’m with you on the simple make-up comment! i love the colours and the tones she uses, it makes it look so effortless.
