a seaside story by twiggs photography

May 1, 2012 filed under: hello twiggs personal, personal

oh today is a international holiday and i felt like escaping from the usual tuesday feature for something equally creative – my work as a landscape photographer. asides from the portrait work i do, this is also one of my most favourite things to do – taking pictures on the places i visit. you already know my work as a photographer of lisbon and today i wanted to share my latest work by the sea, in peniche, where we usually spend our weekends.

these landscapes are pretty common to me and yet i always try to capture them one more time and through a different perspective or processing. this was a very gloomy day, always with several dark clouds in the sky… but i do love to look at the ocean on these days. it’s interesting because though i was never one of those persons with a special feeling about the sea, i never felt differently just by looking at the sea as some report, but i’ve been enjoying looking at it on summer days or winter ones as well. there is something about the light coming from a grey sky, a thunderstorm threatening sky. i hope you’re having a delightful holiday!

ps. twiggs photography is having a  bogo sale (buy one, get one for free!), enjoy while it lasts!

Beautiful pictures! Makes me long for water. I really miss lakes and the ocean and it feels like I never have time to enjoy nature anymore (I live on an island so I guess I don’t have to look too far to find the ocean). It really is beautiful!

As I’ve mentioned to you before, I love to see your west-facing views of the Atlantic, and think of how we all live in this same world, but depending on where we live, our view of things sometimes looks a bit different. It’s fun to see how the world looks through your eyes. :)
