hello there!! how are you doing & feeling this tuesday? we woke up to a very gloomy day, and eventually it started raining. so looking at the photos from the weekend seem that they were actually from last month and not just two days ago. and speaking about photography, today i’m sharing something really precious with you. and when i say “really precious” i mean that this post has a different tone, because i’m speaking about someone that i actually know and whose work i deeply admire. today i’m focusing local markets feature on a very sweet couple that work on photography and are the ones behind instante fotografia, elsa and rui.
i met this couple a few weeks ago on the simplesmente branco showcase here in lisbon, i already had spoken with them before, but as they live up in the north, we never had the chance to say hi face to face! and it is quite amazing when you finally meet someone face to face and the conversation just goes as easy as if we had been friends for life! other than their extreme friendly mood, they are strongly connected with each other and with the thing that bonds them and bonds them to their work – love. and love for what they do and for their clients is what we see through their images…
as i work as a lifestyle photographer, i often connect with other photographers that do the same as i do, and mainly intend to change the conventional way of portraying weddings. the industry in portugal is still very much conventional and it’s not hard to find photographers that do the same now as they did in 1983. and when you talk about wedding photography it’s common to see someone cringe their face, because usually is a boring moment for guests that place themselves on a line to take pictures with the bride and groom on the same place, on the same position as everyone else.
and as i started to search more about this industry in portugal, i was relieved to find already a few photographers that break this conventional way of doing things and try to do something different. they actually try (and are successful) to capture the emotions of that day and make sure that both bride and groom enjoy and relive their wedding day through the pictures taken during the wedding. instante fotografia are among these professionals that want to break the “rules” and look for the emotions, the details, the love… because weddings are all about love, right?
if i had to choose photographers whose work i both admire and feel related to as a photographer, i would choose elsa and rui, for sure. i love the way they capture the colours, the details, the light… i feel deeply connected with their work and love the fact that their clients are always so beautiful and look so happy! so as a surprise, i hope this feature makes you smile guys! that’s how how much i am fond of you!!
you can find them on their website & facebook!

Actually I’ve been following them recently. I still have this idea that all the wedding photography in Portugal is still very conventional, and it was quite a relief to discover that’s not the case.
I really think their work is very similar to yours, in the sense they both try to tell the story behind the two people that are getting married, including lots of beautiful detail. I really love that.
But thank’s again for sharing, I have to say I’ve discovered lots of beautiful blogs and photographers through you :)
wish you a great week ahead
