hi there lovely ones! have i told you lately that i really appreciate each one of you that comes by every day to read what i have to say? and specially to those that take the time to leave your comments, and sometimes long comments, that make me think about my decisions and contribute to my opinions? i really love you guys for that! and let me tell you that since i started answering on the blog itself, it makes me feel even more that this was the best decision, because i feel like we are all interacting and that is the main reason of blogging, right? we share in order to seek interaction with someone out there reading and interested on what we’re saying. so for all of you, i cannot put into words how happy you make me feel for all this! so all i can is thank you so much!
and after this side note, i’m really happy to have my laptop again and with it, some files came as well (yay!!!!), already started backing things up online, and as soon as i grab my hands on a new external drive and some dvd’s, other forms of backup will take place! other than that, it feels good to have some things with us! and now i’m back to the business, and will spend a huge amount of time redesigning some things, but that’s my part of the guilt, so now i really don’t have any other choice! that and i also realized that if i could spend that amount of money on saving my hard drive, i might as well book flights to new york again and spend another week there with mr twiggs! same price, much more joy! but of course, none of this will happen and all i have for now is lightroom with the images there, though i cannot export any of them, looking at them is good for now! so let’s move on to the usual business! and yes, the usual is sometimes really good!
jason fiske is the man of the day, as you may have noticed! he is one of the artists present on mammoth and company, which is a website for artists to sell their art, just like society6, but the difference is that the artists need to submit their work and might not be accepted and there are no other products asides from prints. let’s say that it’s a much exclusive club for artists! and jason fiske happens to be one those artists! i came acroos his work and though he only has three prints available, i couldn’t let go because i do love whatever is similar to watercolour, i really enjoy the colours he uses and the fact that they are all a bit abstract.
“my hand moves a lot. my legs move all the time. my eyes occasionally hurt. the first time i was conscious of creating art was when i started failing classes because my hand refused to let my eyes move away from the paper i was sketching on. i grew up in a small town with a rubber factory emanating awful smells from its center. my grandfather taught me how to fish, which birds were which, why i shouldn’t paint my fingernails and how to take a punch. these are the things i remember. in the form of drums, broken instruments, stolen xylophones. my camera is always with me. photographs of places or moments i don’t want to end. most of what i create stems from the things which fascinate me. my fear, my hatred, my inability to stop using the technology that is at once making it easier to find your way home and also turning books into machines which are turning brains into mush which are going to make the spelling bees of the future very easy to win or push them into utter extinction.”
so what do you think about jason’s work? do you enjoy these forms and colours? you can also find him here and here!

ps. for the little ones, mammoth also has a collection! i do love those balloons and colours!

I love watercolours! I want several around my own home one day. And Jason’s are lovely! Not just the colours, but the images within the paintings themselves. And I’m so happy to hear some of your files were recovered! As for everything else, don’t think of it as a re-do, but rather a new beginning. :)

you are so right saturine! it’s a whole new chance, isn’t it? i just feel really really sorry for the new york photos, and of course all the others new york is new york, and i don’t think we’ll going there anytime soon, but well… maybe we will just for the sake of new pictures! :):)

Well and why not visit London? It’s so close, if you like to walk near the river and photograph flowers and english countryside you’re more than welcome into my house :)
twiggs says
well that would be an awesome idea, but right now it’s impossible… no need to say why, right? :) but that english countryside must be beautiful!

oHhh as long as I live here, the invitation remains, we just need to keep on watching the prices so its easier to have flights for less than 100€ return :D
