you know how i like to break some rules, right? yes, most of the times my own rules! for example, i usually post during lunch time, and now it’s dinner time and i’m posting! but i have a reason for that, i was working hard on a photo session this afternoon, a wedding. and of course, i’ll share about that later! i’m still in awe with all that happened today! everything was so simple, so gorgeous, so intimate, that as a photographer i couldn’t be happier to have been chosen to be there and take their photos! but now let’s move on to what usually brings me here on mondays – a sneak-peek over something. usually it’s a blog, or something handmade or even a very nice photographer. today, i think we can say that we have all that! and for those who know kinfolk, you know why, right? so kinfolk, what on earth is kinfolk?
“kinfolk is our way of encouraging a natural approach to spending time with family and friends.”
and there’s more…
“kinfolk is a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. we recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us. we have come together to create kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love.”
“every element of kinfolk—the features, photography, and general aesthetics—are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived. kinfolk is the marriage of our appreciation for art and design and our love for spending time with family and friends.”
in other words, every feature that this magazine contains is delightful and will share the appreciation for a great project that embraces the simple pleasures of life. the spaces that you see on the magazine, or the photos are absolutely breathtaking and filled with gorgeous details. and yet, though filled with those gorgeous details, and though some were put that way to be beautiful, it seems that they were forgotten there and somehow noticed and captured on camera. asides from the magazine itself, you can also read their journal (which is kind of a blog) and if you live in the united states or canada, they are hosting dinners, which is absolutely magical (please see these photos from the brooklyn dinner by leo patrone). so today this feature was filled with handmade artists, photography and some kind of blog, all wrapped up in a beautiful white magazine/journal called kinfolk, which is a group of awesomely talented folks!
