hello there my friends, how are you doing? are you having a good week? i have been busy as always, which is always a good thing, right? but now that the year has begun there are all sorts of new goals to be accomplished, and i am not the most organized person in the world, so it has been such a struggle to manage everything during the day + the house + mr kobe. ok, i confess, i have been going to bed again very late. but for now, i still feel happy and not tired at all. and though i am going to bed late, i think it’s all a matter of pressure. and after dinner, i take all the pressure from my shoulders and do what i want. if i want to be working on something of my own, then i’ll do that! though right now i’m breaking my rule of going to bed early, to have a proper night of sleep! but let’s move on to our topic!
if you have been a frequent reader you know that on wednesdays i always share something from etsy, but you know what’ why focus only on etsy? there are so many gorgeous businesses out there, that after a while it felt a little unfair to restrict myself to etsy. so, from now on this feature is no longer called wednesdays on etsy, but is now wednesday find. pretty, right? well, pretty is what i have now… do you like flowers?
yesterday i was around a project of web-design and needed some inspiration for colour palettes, so i thought i could go on today. anna emilia is the lady behind these master pieces! i love her work, because she manages to have two things that i love on drawings: small details + gorgeous colours! and when i tried to find out more about her, i was even more delighted. she tells her story with drawings and you just feel like you are reading a small book.
“in 1983 i was born in leppävirta, a small town in finland with strawberry fields, lakes and pine forests. there i built huts out of branches with friends and my brother, listened to stories from tapes and drew, cut and glued paper. one summer we found melancholy thistle flowers which we used as painting brushes.”
“i moved to iceland in 2004. in a tiny town of dalvík i followed the year passing in the valley, mountains and the sea. i worked in a kindergarten painting and drawing with the children. there were no trees but an open sky and the sea amazed me. i went back to finland to continue my studies in graphic design focusing on illustration. the summers i kept spending in reykjavík, iceland.”
“now i live in finland, still marveling at all the trees growing here. the weather gives the color to my paintings. when i paint i think of all the faraway places the wind reaches and hope to hear from them. i enjoy finding connections between nature and the ones living in it, collecting them as memories on a soft cotton paper.”
personally i love this last one… those colours are gorgeous and i felt so inspired by this one last night! i also love the paper anna uses, because you can almost feel its texture. now, go on to her shop or blog, but do find more about her. she just seems to be a sweet girl!

awww love the idea! You always find so many pretty things. Love the last one as well, it really cheers me up :) She is indeed such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
I’m really impressed by how many things you can manage at the same time, well done! And well, myself I also work better during evenings and love to wake up before working time, it’s just when the days are smaller I feel guilty if I miss half of a day sleeping.
Have a nice week dear :)
