hello good morning my friends, how are you? how was your weekend? i had a delightful saturday (though cleaning and sneezing… oh the dust and my nose, never good friends!) and yesterday i had another craft fair. how did it go? err… how can i explain to you? it was freezing, i had to ask mr twiggs to bring my winter coat, because i was not taking the cold any more… there were just a few people wandering around… and yes, just wandering around… and well, it was just worth because i had the nicest neighbours and i got to laugh and chat for a while! what else could we do actually? and then i received the visit from a {friend} and also from two of the three lovely girls of {adoro}, which i already featured {here}! it is such a pleasure to meet in person with those with whom we have exchanged emails and whose work we admire! though cold, lousy in sales and with hot tea and warm blanket on my thoughts all day long, it was worth it!
and today we are having someone whose artistic sense comes from… italy! he is a graphic designer and thought to himself that he could try and submit his work to this blog… and then when i visited his website, i realized that i already knew his work from {society6} and was already a fan! of course, i would feature him! his work is so beautiful! and as usual, i asked him a couple of questions about his work and life in general… i loved his answers and we have something in common… our love for stockholm and food! and this is serious! his name is simone capano.
hello simone! how are you? can you tell us something about you? hello, i’m fine thanks! i’m a 24 yo illustrator and graphic designer from italy, i spent four years in rome and now i live in venice – even if in my mind i wake up everyday in stockholm.
what has inspired you to do what you do? why not a doctor for example? well, mainly i don’t take myself way too seriously. so i decided to go along with my desires, drawing the everyday life and sharing it with everyone else.
what does your work makes you feel? it makes me feel like i’m a superhero! it’s like when everybody is waiting for you to come and make some prowess as a superhero… you know, that sort of thing.
can you tell us a bit about your daily routine? ok, i wake up in stockholm (as i said before) and then i start eating. this is something that will accompany me all day long. then i take trains, i read, i walk in venice, i drink (in order): cappuccino, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, spritz, i take trains again, i cook – cook – and cook again, i wash myself, i drink a cup of chamomile while i fall asleep.
who are your favourite artists? too many! maybe i can quote some: julia pott, sandra diekmann, will bryant, linzie hunter, kate bingaman burt… i think it would take too long listing them all.
how do you manage work-life balance? simple! o just have no balance, no life! only work! if I allow myself a little bit of life then i cook… and then i eat.
aren’t these illustrations just precious? i love their simplicity, but their colours and details as well! just like if simone was telling us a story! asides from this, i love his sense of humor and the way he sees himself! i find that to be a really good strategy to be happy! you can find him {here} and {here}!

Hi, I’m doing well… I’m a bit snuffly from getting over a cold, but well enough besides that. :) I love your blog; it helps to soothe and inspire me at the same time, and I feel “at home” reading through the posts (if that makes sense).
I find myself coming back to this one post in particular, though. I just love the charming illustrations AND the fact that, through this interview, I’ve heard a bit of the voice behind them. Thank you!
