hello there lovely friends, how are you doing? did you have a nice weekend? did you do anything special? we had a very hot weekend, as we will have a very hot week, as well… today i even dreamed i was waking up to pouring rain outside, then i realized it was just the fan working in the bedroom, so that you can see how much i am enjoying these temperatures… not! i had a lovely pregnancy photo session this saturday, had so much fun and of course, will be delighted to share more of that later! but with no further ado, let me share something with you… today’s blog! but first a question… do you enjoy happy hours?
{eat make read} is a food blog that is remarkably fresh and features a lot of cocktails’ recipes!
“i live in brooklyn, new york with my lovely husband, aaron and our fantastic dog, maude. i’m a graphic designer by day, a maker, baker and blogger by night. in addition to eatmakeread, i publish a magazine, remedy quarterly. i love polka dots, strawberries, a good cocktail and the farmer’s market.”
“i began eat make read in february 2008 as a way to cure boredom and push myself to do more. it has blossomed into a food blog and accompanying happy hour that makes me a very happy lady. where i was once a super picky eater, i am now open to trying (and making) way more than i could have ever imagined, or as my husband says, “daring is the new normal“.”
as you can see, cocktails are a huge part of this blog, and this makes me want to go back to the weekend asap… or i could always dream of a daily happy hour time here at home, to prepare myself a different cocktail every day, sit on the tiniest balcony in the world, and enjoy the sunset. now this seems the greatest idea ever! the girl behind this blog is kelly carambula, and you can also find her on {facebook} & {twitter}! she also sells the magazine mentioned above {here}. asides from the recipes, it also enjoys me the colours kelly uses! everything seems so bright and cheerful! and most of all, the blog looks delicious and clean at the same time!

What a lovely read! Her passion for blogging and her relationship with food is inspiring. I love how she says she was once a very picky eater and now she opens herself up to more than she could imagine. This is a very powerful mantra for those of us who feel picky or constricted in some way with any relationship. How may we be limiting ourselves in our relationship with food, friends, relationships, our capacity to enjoy our jobs?
I love her enthusiasm as well as yours, thanks for always posting greatness!
Cheers,
Diane
