shop :: calendars, postcards + a gallery

so, i have been very busy as i have been telling you from time to time, but i have not yet shared enough about what i have been busy with. well, among several projects, one will start this friday… but first let me tell you the whole story! as i have been stating a lot lately, the presence on craft fairs has been quite good, not only for the sales made in those days, but also as a meaning of advertising, for which i am paying a really low price.

on the last craft fair, a young designer approached me in order to make an offer. she was opening an art gallery, featuring several artists, and by what she was seeing of my work, it would be perfect to be featured as well among all the other artists. so, i met her the following week to talk about that project she had in mind. we connected so easily, that our meeting lasted the whole morning. the project was very interesting and i was accepting to be a part of it, of course! so now this friday, the art gallery will make its debut and this is what you will be seeing from my end.

we carefully chose the ones that might attract the eyes of those who wander around the art gallery, both tourists and locals. there might be a future project with the museum, that is right in front of the gallery, in order to attract more tourists to the gallery and also bring more tourists to the museum itself.

the art gallery is located near to the {museu nacional de arte antiga}, located on the {rua das janelas verdes}, which is a fabulous place to begin with. the neighbourhood is really calm, and though it is a bit hard to park the car… you can go by bus and stop right in front of the gallery. so what more can you wish for?

ivânia is the designer behind the art gallery and this is what she wrote to introduce the project (in portuguese this time) and send the invite:

“ivânia andreia coelho fraústo é licenciada em design industrial e pós-graduada em design de interiores pelo {iade}. após várias experiências profissionais, criou o seu espaço, o seu próprio projecto pessoal e interior. 

para dar vida ao if|atelier galeria, design e interiores, remodelou pessoalmente o que foi uma área trabalho, projectos e confecções de interiores, dando origem a uma mostra de linguagem urbana, contemporânea e sofisticada.  

mais que uma galeria, ambiciona ser um local de encontro e partilha, que através de mostras de criação de autor, tertúlias e workshops, pretende dar expressão e visibilidade aos seus trabalhos e a projectos e ensaios de artistas plásticos e designers portugueses.

o nascimento do if|atelier galeria, design e interiores tem data marcada para 28 de Outubro de 2011, às 18.30h-21.00h, na rua do olival, nº. 42 1200-743 lisboa ( junto ao museu nacional de arte antiga).  

o evento inaugural será contemplado com pintura de sara andorinho, ivo lino, fátima martins alves e constantino vitorino, ilustração de luís alves, escultura de vitorino constantino, joalharia/bijuteria de sara andorinho, luísa salgueiro, the punpis, maria gira, malas ergonómicas de anabela vieira, fotografia de twiggs’ photography & design, design de moda de artes à mão.“

so, now i expect you to come… of course, those who live near at least… let’s meet, have a cup of coffee… talk for a while… and have a pleasant friday evening! and if you cannot make your appearance… well, send some good luck on our way, will you?
