hello lovely friends, how are you doing? did you have a good weekend? as i told you i had a delightful weekend and i cannot wait for tomorrow, as tomorrow is a national holiday, so i will be back to my weekend routine, which o love and will talk about it later! i also want to let you know that i am loving your answers to the small survey i launched yesterday! i am loving your honesty and every time a new person fills out the answers, i smile of excitement to read what that person thinks about this blog. needless to say that i have forgotten a few topics that i also wanted to ask you about, but well, that will have to wait. so, if you are a frequent reader, i would love you to take one minute to answer {these}, please! i will love you so much! so today i have one special lady and photographer with us! i say special because, though every guest is special in its own way, this lady rocks because she takes pictures of animals! and she is extremely good at it!
i asked a few questions to sharon about her work… and though she is completely swamped with work, but she still managed to answer these… let’s read what she has to say!
hello sharon, how are you? so, how has this adventure started? hello claudia, i’m fine thank you! well, i started photographing animals in 1998 when i became frustrated trying to build a more conventional photography career (weddings, headshots, etc.). luckily, i failed miserably at that.
what challenges do you face? i love what i do so much that i don’t really think of any part of the process as a challenge. what i get to do is a gift. i’m lucky and i never lose sight of that.
what would your dream situation be in a few years? as long as i can continue making a living doing what i love and my family and friends are happy and healthy, that’s the ideal situation for me now and into the future.
what was your most exciting moment in this journey? figuring out how to make my prints affordable and knowing that people all over the world are enjoying them in their homes.
these photos are extraordinary… and if you think that these are somehow digitally created, let me tell you that sharon has contacted with every single one of these animals, in order to take these pictures. as you can read on her website…
“the animals photographed for this series are real live animals, raised (and most rescued) by loving, experienced, and dedicated animal keepers and handlers who care for them as their own and ensured their welfare while being photographed (in studio or outside at the facilities where they live, then photoshoppped into the backdrop). through this series, we help support organizations devoted to animal rescue, educational programs, and nurturing wildlife.”
and you can also “meet” sharon through her video, a little behind the scenes and “why do i do what i do” kind of approach! you can see it {here}! you can also explore her website {here}… {blog} + {facebook}!
