…and it was something like this!
always imagine the worse: though i bought & brought a clothing rack to have my totes displayed, i should have noticed that the whole thing was too light. after falling a few times and even considering putting it away, as well, as the totes, as i had no place to put them, my neighbours lend me a rope, and i tied it to the tree… and to my chair. so, whether the purse, myself, mr twiggs, or a friend, there was always someone (or something) sitting on the chair!
put prices on each product: though i have a beautiful chalkboard with prices, people seem to not see it or understand it. which is perfectly normal, because most of the people wandering there are tourists, or the chalkboard was on the ground due to all the wind!
have a sign stating that all the prints are originals: ok, so why would i sell copies? i know, maybe a legit question, but people seem to be amazed (and when i say amazed is really amazed! three teenage girls went crazy with this piece of information!) when i say that i am the photographer and that is my original work.
cork is the lightest thing in the whole world: i was happy as a french fry with my cork board to display some of my prints! it turned out a lousy idea, because cork is light… even with no wind at all… but what seemed to be going on there was a tornado, so… that piece of cork board needs to be hanged and really tight!
think outside the box: i printed a 8″x8″ with all the calendar images, so that people would see the whole thing, instead of unwrapping one calendar. well, most of the people thought that was the size i was selling, even though you could hardly see numbers and letters! maybe i should make a 12″x12″ version after all!
manage your expectations: sometimes you create something, thinking of a potential type of customer… and you think “this will blow their minds!”. well, hold your horses, sister! maybe things don’t go that way you thought they would! just a little reminder! of course, what does not work today, might become a blast tomorrow! just as a reminder, this lesson should always be present!
and this was it! thank you to all the good friends that stopped by and for all the lovely people that gave such a nice feedback on my work! next week, another one! this time on {lx factory}!

O vento pode ser um grande inimigo numa feira. Participei na primeira edição da Feira na Fábrica no Lx Factory e esteve tanto vendo e frio que eu não sei o que voou mais, os cadernos ou os clientes!
Lesson learned: A5 size notebooks really can fly!
