hello there lovely friends, how are you? i would say that i feel good, but my back just started to ache and this might turn into a not that good day, still, in a very good mood! thank you so much for the lovely comments and tweets on yesterday’s post about {those who steal and sell the ideas as their own}, it is so good to have this conversation with all of you! so moving on, today i was looking for something inspirational to feature… browsing through my favourites (and i have 3 etsy shops… so 3 lists of favourites!) and of course, this was the day for {fieldguided}. anabela is behind fieldguided, which is also a blog. i love anabela’s {blog} as much as i love everything she does. she is such an inspiration for me…
in their shop you can read a simple message as this one… “les petits riens, wild hearts, mythical beasts, fields of flowers. riding on the diamond waves, little darling one.” fieldguided makes me dream of a magical place.
but who is anabela?
“my name is anabela and i am currently 32 years old. i live in toronto, where i was born, with my partner of six years, geoff, and our cats oreo and pony. i have brown hair and i blush easily. i am a capricorn, leo rising. i have a degree in library studies but i don’t work as a librarian. i typeset books about things such as tennis in the early modern period.”
“my favourite things, which i sometimes write about, include japanese sewing books, doilies and lace, thrifting, perfume, eric rohmer’s six moral tales. pretty clothes and pastel colours. geoff’s drawings. les petits riens, wild hearts, mythical beasts, fields of flowers. bike rides and ice cream runs. lula, frankie, and russh magazines. joan didion and other smart girls.”
her totes are so beautiful, yet something so simple. it is obvious that the stories behind someone’s work also add something to the work itself. the designer brings personal experiences, dreams, fears… to the work itself. and objects are created. some filled with character and crying for adventure, just like these. you can find fieldguided beautiful “stories” {here} and you can also follow anabela’s words {here}.
