so i am back for another interview! but first two notes on what i am about to share. though this blog is in english and there are by far more readers from the states than from portugal, i always feel a great honor when i share something from portugal. because though this blogging thing is not as huge as in the states, it is also with a great joy that i see some very stylish blogs + bloggers working in my own country. it will still be strange for most people if i say i am a blogger. they will probably think that i write a tiny blog, where i share my thoughts and considerations. they will not think of a blog as a magazine, and the truth is that there is not much of a difference between blogs and magazines. well, some blogs at least. and i like to think of mine as a small lifestyle magazine. and i am the editor.
the second thing i wanted to say is that you probably know how much i dislike the idea of getting married. well, the traditional way. unless my loved one asked me to, i would never get married in a church… it doesn’t make sense for me… and it means nothing as well. i am sorry for all the christians and lovers of god out there, i respect you, i was raised in a christian house and my mum would love my brother and me to be priest and nun for sure, unless the part where she would not have grand-children, that would be her pride! but for me, it does not make sense to make my vows in front of a priest. and i never, never dreamed of being a bride… i was six when i stated i did not want to get married. but i must confess that with all the gorgeous ideas of weddings out there, with the new trend of outdoor and diy weddings… well, mr twiggs, i must confess that if we had the money, i would be a beautiful bride just for you!
and all this to say that today i will share a portuguese blog dedicated to weddings… {branco prata}, in english means {white silver}. for starters, the name itself is gorgeous. i loved the colour combo reference and the simple name. it is certainly one of the most successful wedding blogs in portugal and behind it, a very lovely lady named sofia and a very nice man named andré. and here is a bit of a story about {branco prata}.
hello sofia… welcome to {a place for twiggs}. the first question i have in mind for you is very simple… why? why did you start this blog? hello claudia, thank you for asking us to be here! it is such an honor! well… we started this blog mainly because we wanted to show the things that inspire us and the work we do! it’s funny how the blog became so important for us and how our clients seem to know a bit about us, just by reading it! i can’t imagine {branco prata} without that blog and frankly i can’t imagine my life without blogging! to find new and fresh content for it, is such a great challenge for us and because of it we are constantly being inspired by others and i think you can see that reflected in our work!
one of the things i liked immediately was your blog name… what is the story behind it? now that’s a funny story… i was planning my first wedding (9 years ago) and the color scheme i chose was white and silver… in portuguese that’s “branco” and “prata”… match the two words and every single thing i had that was wedding related was saved as {branco prata}, i loved the name so much that when me and andré started to work together it just felt right… that’s how {branco prata} was born!!
and how about goals? do you think about it? do you have any already on your mind? i want this blog to be a reflection of us, want to look at it and say… this is us: me + andré = branco prata, this is what we are, what we love to do, one of the things in life that truly makes us happy, this is our work, our identity!
you must have a few challenges though… i have to say getting comments or far most important, to make people believe that our crazy ideas can work on weddings in portugal, which is still a very conventional country… so our ideas are so fresh that for some people those might be a bit out of their world.
and have you thought about any future plans for {branco prata}? to make people happy & inspired. to share fresh content, to be closer and closer to our couples and specially to show them you can go the extra mile when it comes to wedding inspiration and ideas!! to meet new people from all over the world! and to continue to have a smile on my face every single time i blog!
{branco prata} is not just a wedding blog, it is also a company…
“the love for everything related to weddings joined in 2003, sofia and andré, forming brancoprata. since then they have been developing wedding projects in areas like design, stationery, flowers, photography and videography. bring creativity and aesthetic sense to the next level is the daily challenge of the whole team.”
and i think that they do an excellent work, with no doubt! you can explore more of their work {here}, and if you are planning a wedding, this should be in your list! thank you both for letting us sneak-peek into your blog!
