i wish ideas would never run out. we all wish this, right? have you noticed the hours? oh my goodness, i think i never posted so late, but after all the hard work i have been through in order to prepare this for you, well this was the least i could do! i have been preparing new things for the craft fair next sunday, and i am all excited! after reading this {post} by jenna from {sweet fine day}, i laughed and felt even more enthusiastic about being present in more & more craft fairs! the experience is great, for better or for worse, obviously, we actually meet people, which otherwise i wouldn’t be meeting through my usual co-worker… mr laptop! and of course, regarding the financial part of all this, depending on the investment made for the craft fair, it can be really rewarding! and of course, it is great to actually receive feedback from my work, in such a live experience! i am “on air” all day long! so what are the news? do you want to know? i have been working on {twiggs’ designs} and these are the latest news on the shop, which will be also present on the craft fair.
if i had to list my favourite patterns, chevron would definitly be on top of that list! and as i love cheerful colours, with a pastel twist, i chose these soft colours. and the curious thing is that if you asked me how is my creative process, these particular notebooks illustrate it pretty well.
1) i start by designing chevron on photoshop…
2) then adding some colours…
3) then i print it to see how it looks!
4) i like the colours and had one of these notebooks on the (disorganized) table;
5) i pick the kraft paper one and see how it looks like with the chevron pattern;
6) i like it, so i glue it!
a few days later, i had already forgotten about this… when i bought that orange yarn for some other project. and yesterday it crossed my mind that the orange i picked was actually perfect with the chevron colours! and then was just like 2+2! two notebooks were born! this was also to illustrate the fact that most of my things are born without a plan. the ideas just pop in my head… they are meant to be sold together and will be soon available on the etsy shop! but you can always pre-order yours! i guess these will run out pretty fast! and now, 40 minutes before midnight, i am saying good-bye, see you tomorrow!

Your nextstep is getting a sewing machine…… and start sewing the images to the notebooks! That would be awsome! (let me know if you want to try it before, and I’ll let you use mine!)

First I thought the same as Ana said…but then, well… let me say Claudia that these hand sewn notebooks are really beautiful! I never saw others like these. Congrats for the originality!!!
Hugs,

Hello Claudia!
having just recently shared about my chevron notebooks and handstiching {http://domesticstorieswithivy.blogspot.com/2011/09/hello-everyone-have-you-been-since-i.html}
these caught my attention!
I love your interpretation and actually I think that handmaking the whole notebook myself {as I do so far} is a way too time consuming process, which I have trouble finding a fair price for!
This is mainly the reason they are only available for a few custom orders & friends- customers.
I honestly don’t know what to charge if I place then on etsy, so that both my time, personal work & ideas are fairly rewarded, while not asking for unfair prices.
Seems like using already made notebooks is a great idea to save time, while offering a perfect quality, as when one does everything by hand, there are minor imperfections as careful as one might be!
Good luck with your next fair ~ best regards, Iro : ) x
