august break :: 19th

August 19, 2011 filed under: august break, blogs breaks, hello twiggs personal, photography

part of my vintage tea cup sessions along with lemon balm freshly picked in my kitchen… i have decided to share these today, because during this week away, and since i am actually away from home, one of my concerns before leaving were my plants. do you have any plants? do you take care of them like you would take care of a pet? i don’t, but it is quite close! i don’t talk with them, but i try to have them as beautiful as i can. and since several of them died when i was away the last time, i decided to take most of them to my mother-in-law’s home and hope for some to resist the whole trip-inside-a-fruit-box-inside-a-car-with-no-light… well, for less than an hour, i know! asides from herbs, i also have several cherry-tomatoes in different vases, lavender and small orange carnations.

+ this {artist} made me laugh;

+ this {song} makes me smile… because i love this man’s voice…

+ this {lamp} would look so good around here;

+ etsy changed its labeling policies, so if you are an etsy seller, you should read {this}!

    I have many plants too and I have so many that they don’t even fit the trunk of my car and I have a big trunk! When I moved to TN in January, I had the trunk of the car full of plants and my car full of my dogs (I have three); everything else was transported by my husband and his parents but I did not trust anyone else to take care of my live friends ;-)

    Luckily, my plants are rather resilient as I sometimes forget to water them–I should know better than that. Lavender likes to be in a dry environment, so it should be OK over your break.

    My grandmother loved carnations, they were her favorite flowers. I find that when I go to the plant store I am attracted to the plants of my childhood, those that were loved by my grandmother and mother. Right now, I have a little rosemary plant that really needs a new pot and I also have a few mints that need to be potted. Maybe I’ll work on it this weekend…
