as you may have read several times, i usually spend the weekends away from lisbon in mr twiggs hometown, which is called peniche. peniche is a small fishing town, known for the tasty fish dishes, the surf camps, the berlenga archipelago, the harbor… it is a small town, but tourists happen to find their way here, mainly because they come for the fish or the surf, as peniche was considered the wave capital and it is one of the cities hosting the {asp world tour}, bringing to this small town some of the most well-known surfers in the whole world. peniche is about the sea… boats… fish. and one week ago, i dedicated myself wandering alone through the narrow streets and places where abandoned and old boats stand still waiting for death or someone to rescue them.
i love these boats mainly because they are painted in such bright colours. it is a real feast for my eyes. i spent a while here taking pictures, trying to find different angles… compositions… there will be more on {facebook}!

I love the peeling paint and the colors of these beautiful boats.

I love the photos. It’s like they reveal a story at sea. Hoe nice to spend the weekends away from the city, in such lovely surroundings. :)

Old boats are always a nice subject to take photos…
I´ve been once in Peniche, such a nice place.
I especially like the narrow streets that end over the sea,
and the area arround the “farol”.
Have a nice day

Love these pictures.
It a strange kind of beauty the decadence of an once thriving fleet.
Maybe this will change in the future! one can always hope. :)
