hello good friends, how are you doing? we are having another very hot day here in lisbon and i think that neither me, nor mr kobe know exactly what to do to keep fresh. and you know how sleepy you feel in these days? not helping to keep this day a productive one! i am back today for another sneak-peek into delicious things on etsy. you know, this morning, my friend {laura} commented on twitter that if she didn’t find something productive to do, she would manage to throw herself into the pleasures of shopping… either on amazon… or etsy, which she was trying to avoid. and that kept me thinking. etsy is that huge market place filled with goodies, isn’t it? sometimes it just feels good to treat ourselves with some shopping in the comfort of our place… even if just window-shopping. well, that is what i do every wednesday actually and today was no different. though i am no fashion addict, nor victim… and can spend months without buying something new to wear, i have been drawn to a certain style of clothing and also jewelry. i might not buy anything from today’s guest, but i sure i would love to. her name is guisela and this lovely lady creates exquisite jewelry pieces for {under a new light}. oh the name is just so fresh!
“when i’m passionate about something, i usually get obsessed with it and forget about time. recently, i’ve been “obsessed” with the handmade world. i discovered the artistic side of me. and i’m increasingly liking it!”
“although i’m not an artist in the traditional sense of the term, i like to think of myself as an aspiring one. and if being an artist means putting all our heart in something that we want to make remarkable, then i am one”
“my etsy shop is my first project. it has helped me learn about myself a little more and how i could help others get their bohemian, indie, boho chic, and colorful side out to the world. and to make sure that our world remains inspiring and beautiful, i reuse and recycle materials to create colorful and sustainable items that have their own special story. i like to use recycled fabrics, leathers, vintage-styled chains and vintage finds.”
i really loved this shop when i bumped into it… i like the very thin gold chains… the colourful fabrics & leathers… they all seem so feminine, without the romantic assumption. and right now, in july 2011 i am into this kind of jewelry. i might treat myself sometime. guisela also writes in her blog called {love creative hands} – another great name, and she is also on {facebook} & {twitter}.
