hello my friends, how are you doing? i am again a bit late, but i had some errands to do today, so i have an excuse! but i bet you will forgive me after sharing what i have to share with you. as you may have guessed, today i am introducing another sponsor for {a place for twiggs}… another lovely artist… blogger, cook… and a man. well, technically {him in the kitchen} is about a man, however, there is a lady on the back doing some work as well! this lady you already know. her name is marianna and she is the designer behind {i am dorkas}, introduced to you last monday. they are such a cute couple… that they are both sponsors for the blog. thank you for your support, guys! so, let’s keep going and explain what is {him in the kitchen}. to begin with… it is a blog about food. let’s read what they say…
can you explain what do you do? i blog about the delicious dishes my boyfriend makes. he is also a photographer. he shoots the food, i edit the photos, and i post them!
when did you start this project? i started this company in 2011 in an effort to keep my boyfriend photographing (and for me to keep eating great meals!)
what is the most important things for you in your business? this is more of an outlet for me, so the most important thing is to keep doing it!
what challenges do you face? there are several great food blogs out there, so the biggest challenge is to keep it fresh & interesting. keeping people interested enough to come back is the challenge!
what are your goals for a near future? i started a {him in the kitchen} etsy store in hopes of selling prints… and cookies. maybe some day we will do a {him in the kitchen} book!
how do you promote your business to make it a successful one? word of mouth & doing recipe collaborations with other blogs has been helpful. we also get people hooked on the cookies and then tell them to check out the blog!
well, it works for me! i would definitely read a blog if the author gave me delicious cookies! i really like how the couple works together in order to achieve their goals and how creative their life must be, don’t you think? cooking or baking and then setting everything to make an interesting image is such a challenge. because as we know… there are so many delicious food blogs out there and you need to struggle for your own point of view to stand out from the crowd! you should read {him in the kitchen}, specially {simple seafood}, which embraces the delicious grilled sardines we portuguese love to eat in this time of the year (which reminds me that next weekend i shall have a summer lunch with friends with grilled sardines!) and also {summer in your mouth}. first the name of the post is delicious (what can taste better than summer?) and it is about a delicious and simple recipe you can try easily! so… what do you think? will you give them a try? do not forget to jump into the {etsy shop} as well!

ps. if you are wondering about the sardines and if it is a coincidence about the portuguese connection, well, marianna’s boyfriend is armando rafael, the photographer, which is also portuguese. the world is a small place, let me tell you that!
