hello my friends, how are you feeling? we have reached the middle of the week! are you already feeling the summer where you live? or perhaps the winter for some of you, right? well, the artist that i am going to talk about is feeling the summer because where she lives is really hot. she has a blog… she makes beautiful things by hand. she creates the most charming and stunning collages on flickr… she is blonde. she has a beautiful smile and when you talk to her, you can feel her good mood and honest heart! and she chose the cutest name for her work.

“hello! i am katrien, a belgian girl living in italy, and the real life person behind the world of pilli pilli… i love the simple things in life, such as the sunshine in our bedroom on a summer sunday morning, the soft fur of our little feline friend, maia or a pretty cup to drink my coffee from!”

“making things has been an important part of my life for as long as i can remember, but everything changed in the fall of 2008 when i decided to started working part-time so i could give a long distance relationship that had been going on for a couple of years a chance of turning into something more ‘real’. it was then that i started to create small softies out of recycled wool sweaters… just to keep busy in between my frequent travels up and down the european continent to meet my boyfriend.”

“one year later i made the big leap and moved to italy, where i found a nice part-time job in a local museum. and with no more travelling to do, my part-time working scheme left me lots and lots of time to craft away!”

isn’t {pilli pilli} the sweetest name? katrien has also a {blog} under the same name where she shares her world… and of course, her etsy {shop} is also a part of her world. i loved the part in which she says she found a part-time job at a local museum. people of lisbon, can you find me something similar? it would be great! so, this was a sneak-peek on etsy today! i will be back for more news!
