film stories :: this is where i spend my weekends

May 17, 2011 filed under: film photography, film stories, hello twiggs personal

hello lovely friends, how are you feeling today? i am not that good… i think that today will be one of those days in which i need to do other things to distract myself and find my piece of optimism. it seems that i have really lost everything on the hard drive. it is completely ruined… and i do not know what to do. well, i do know what to do. i need to start all over again. i feel really stupid, believe me. it is so ridiculous that living on a digital business, i had my things on one place only. no words for me on this dumb thing to do. well, to distract myself today i went to pick up the last roll of film i had and these are the results… about where i spend my weekends.

camera: yashica tl electro x
film: kodak gold 200

Oh, dear friend! Have you had someone look at it? I have heard so many who thought they really lost everything to find out that they were able to get most of it off. Your photos are beautiful today! Hugs to you!!

Oh no! Poor you, that is terrible news :(
I have been in your shoes before, and now I am very careful to back up everything important.( Another advantage of film, having negs!) Now it has happened to you, you will be certain you won’t let it happen again!

Oh, and I love these, especially the snail!

that really really sucks! feel so sorry for you
i don’t know if words can confort you but your recent pictures are really great and you know you have it in you to start all over again. and you will do it better!
it’s sad to loose work and memories but the really important ones are in your head, don’t forget that!
and don’t blame yourself, we ALL forget to backup – it just happens!
maybe you sent some of your images by e-mail? stored it on flickr? maybe some can be recovered?
well, your desgrace help someone – i just did my backup! – thank you :)
    good luck and be brave!

Oh no, I am so sorry about your hard drive! I bought an external hard drive 2 years ago for that same reason. :(

I love being near the sea and ocean. I don’t think I could ever live somewhere without them nearby.

I’m so happy I found your blog. :))

I think everyone at one point or another has had a similar experience. It’s horrible, I know. I’m kind of obsessive about backing things up now.
But your weekend photos are lovely….I miss the sea!
