hello hello sweet friends, how are you doing today? are you having a delightful week? i can say i am… i have news for you, but i can’t announce them yet, even so… i am feeling really happy! do you enjoy your happy moments in the correct way? yes, there is a correct way to enjoy happy moments… you can do the chicken dance in your living room, you can smile for 24h or you can eat sweets all day long… either way, you do need to celebrate! life is short, my friends… life is very short! moving on to what brought me here… a walk through etsy.
but first one thing… last week a friend asked me if i worked for etsy or something, because i talk about a lot of artists from etsy and share a lot of links on my facebook page. well, i don’t work for etsy (but if any etsy manager is reading this… i kind of liked the idea! any sort of new projects for portugal?) but i do enjoy sharing these with you. i do what every other blogger does… shares. and asides from the joy in sharing what i like with you, i also believe that if we support each other, we can learn more from others and good things come in your way when you are a good person. i believe i am.
moving on again… as you may have guessed my guest today is {leah duncan}. who is leah duncan?
“hi, i’m leah and i live in austin, texas with my husband, our two cats, our pit mix oslo, some foster puppies, our vegetable garden, and my favorite pajama pants. i am an illustrator, surface pattern, and home goods designer.”
“in 2008, after working as a graphic designer for advertising firms and screen-print companies, twenty-something leah moved to austin, texas, picked up a bic pen, and started drawing. determined to make a living doing what she loves, leah taught herself illustration, how to sew and surface pattern design.”
“three years later her goods are sold in the handmade and boutique markets internationally and her licenced clients include target, urban outfitters and teroforma. inspired by her neighbourhood in east austin and her native american roots, leah creates a world where quircky meets beautiful, folk meets modern and feminine meets delicate.”
give me your thoughts! what do you think? beautiful illustrations with joyful colours, right? i like what she draws, the way she draws and the colours she uses. you should see her homegoods as well… i love beautiful tea towels and she has those too! oh swoon! you can explore more of leah’s work on her {etsy shop} and {website}… and of course, follow her steps on her {blog}, she has also a dog rescued from a shelter, so we already have things in common! enjoy!

I love Leah’s work! She has an amazing eye for pattern and color. Her “Hills” print is one of my absolute favorite art prints that I’ve come across on Etsy. Gorgeous work :)
