hello lovely friends, how are you feeling today? i have been busy around here, doing some photo session with my new prints… if you are a photographer and you print your work, you may understand the thrill of looking at your work on paper… yes, it is divine! well, when the results are what you expected or even better! so, moving on… today i brought back one of the first features on this blog. i started by calling it {number’s editorial} and later it was changed to {a lovely guest}. anyway, the thing was to get to know someone i admired. and today i bring you the lovely krista palmu. who is krista palmu?
she lives in helsinki, finland, has the background of marketing, and loves simplicity coupled with soft and dreamy light. her stream is full of pastel images…
what is your favourite number? i choose number nine (9) because it is the most creative, idealistic and artistic of numbers, it represents inspiration and perfection of ideas. it is a symbol of softness, love and compassion yet it represents completeness – success and achievement and endings of all types.
and if i told you to choose a word from the letter j… i would choose the word ‘joyful’. life needs to be celebrated and too often people neglect the tiny things in life that bring us joy and happiness. the word joyful is very personal to me – so personal that i have even started my own business with it *laughs*. i run the brand {joyhey} that specializes in different kinds of gift items.
a perfect day is when i… wake up in the morning with a smile upon my face. being an idealist, i would most definitely see flowers and butterflies around me and feel a soft sea breeze and sunshine on my face. i would have a cup of coffee and carry my dear camera with me to my new exciting adventures. i would spend my day at the beach listening to the soft murmur of the sea and digging my toes into the warm sand. i would return home late in the evening relaxed and blissful – knowing that i just lived life to the fullest.
one thing i would love to learn is… how not to worry. i am a rather rational and systematic person so i would just love to be able to embrace the ideology of laissez-faire – at least for a some time. i think hemingway puts it quite effectively when he says: “seek the wisdom of the ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child.” (note from the editor…err, me: loved this quote!!! brilliant hemingway!)
would you rather be an english woman in new york or a new yorker in england? what a riddle! or should i be a new woman in new england?!
excellent answers, excellent photography and excellent points of view on life. joy to the world is what we sing during christmas… but just as they say, christmas should be something present all year round… as much as joy. krista has a very exquisite eye for the little things and turns them into huge… as we see in these images of her, she often catches daily life details, offering them a very specific mood that allows us to recognize her work pretty easily. you can browse more through her {flickr stream} and soon she will also have her own website… {joyhey}, but it is not ready yet!
