hello friends, how are you? how was your weekend? i hope it was a good one! it was a bit cloudy here, so those beach warm afternoons i had in mind were a bit frustrated after all… but oh well, who said it was summer? as usual on mondays i always have a special feature called sneak-peek… and if you remember this feature is about three different topics: photography, blogs & handamde beautiful things. today is about those. i bumped into this lady a few weeks ago, i don’t recall when… perhaps in a treasury. i always look carefully to those treasuries in which i am featured in search of a talented artist. i explored her shop… and knew instantly that i had to invite this lady over. her name is evelyn. the lady behind {sumikoshop}.
“hi, i’m evelyn, i’m 29 years old and i live in cervia, italy with my son brian and my boyfriend andrea. i spend a lot of time with my son, which is why i can spare the time to create and experiment with new things.”
“i am crazy about travelling and would gladly travel around the world. i love adventure and unspoiled places… white beaches… the sun… my dream would be to live somewhere warm all year round.”
“i’ve always had an obsession to create something, i remember that i liked to sew clothes when i was very young and i went to a fashion design school. a few years ago i discovered that i could also create jewelry and accessories, so i started my line, precisely in 2008.”
“i love using vintage materials mixed with modern ones, and my own inspiration comes from the supplies that i find. currently this is my only full-time job, i have many plans for the near future, one of them, is to sell my accessories in a few stores around the world. a nice dream that i had many times, would be to attend a trade show in some cities in Europe, maybe one day…”
what do you think? aren’t these sweet and feminine? i love the small details, the attention and care you can feel just by looking to each piece. i have said this before, but i am not one of those girly girls. i have several earrings and lots of necklaces, but now that i do not have a day job, i admit i don’t put on those beautiful accessories (though i always wear make-up, even if i do not get out of the house!)… and when i see these i actually miss those. these would be perfect to start wearing something more feminine. you had me evelyn… you had me on these! you can browse more of evelyn’s work {here} and read her blog {here}. did you know that she had {someone} taking pictures of her accessory line? and the lady that is posing also sings? listen to becky {here}.
